BEANS AND BURGERS, AND KEGS OF GOOD BEER Brewing up some fun for Nashville!
Among its many delights, Nashville has a nice craft brewing scene, and visitors to the convention will find plenty of choices throughout the city for a refreshing beverage. Courageously, a select team local barbershoppers has donated numerous volunteer late night hours to sampling the best.
As a result, we're pleased to disclose we are working with top brewpubs to create a special convention beer to enjoy while visiting Music City in July. The brewmasters are leaning toward a Belgian-style Pale Ale -- a super-drinkable brew that will please the entire crowd. But first, this fine creation needs a suitably barbershoppy name. Some guidelines: Naturally, all suggestions should be in good taste. Something that translates well to a NON-barbershop audience would be helpful. A riff on the particular style would be nice, but is not required. A few silly names to get you going...bet you can top these!
Lemon Squeezy A nice citrusy weiss.
The Auto Towner Non-alcoholic, for longer singing sessions The Golden Staters A classic pilsner! FRED A weird name for a great Imperial stout. Drink only while wearing a loud suit and funny glasses.

EVERYTHING OLD IS... STILL OLD.
Search continues for old C&J Materials
Kevin Keller loves the old songs, and the old judges, and the way the old judges judged the old songs in the old days. The past C&J Chair is heading up a team that is searching for old materials that help describe the evolution of our judging system.
Says Kevin: I appreciate everyone's help in trying to uncover old judging documents. [Here's a list of what has been collected so far.] We're still in search of any materials to fill in gaps. As you clean out your closets, boxes and file cabinets, let me know of any of your finds. Obviously, Harmonizer articles are available online, but any sort of letters associated with judging, anecdotes as to why changes in the rules were made, etc. are greatly appreciated. Please drop me a line if you have anything of interest!

BADGES? WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING BADGES... If you can't sing in front of them, sit alongside them: Judge along in the Best Seats In The House
"That was an 86," you whisper to your seatmate. "No way they don't make the Ten." The arena rustles with the sound of hundreds of similar whispered conversations. Everyone, it seems, is an expert. Yet the contest itself is decided by 15 pros sitting in the prime spot in front of the stage.
How would your scores stack up? And how would it sound sitting in the Judging Area? Find out: Bid now for the Best Seats In The House, a fundraising activity for Harmony Foundation International and the Contest & Judging Committee.
