LET'S GET TOGETHER (YEAH, YEAH, YEAH)

Finding our place in the Choral Ecosystem

As a long-established, richly resourced organization, we have a great deal to offer the entire choral world, as we discovered this month at "Sustaining the Chorus Ecosystem: A Forum on the Opportunities and Challenges for Choral Singing in Our Communities," hosted at the Yale School of Music. Our partnership with Chorus America and American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) culminated in a tremendous day of collaboration, networking, and mutual admiration and understanding.

Society CEO Marty Monson and Chief Strategy Officer Kevin Lynch attended alongside movers and shakers from throughout the choral community, including our newest honorary member Deke Sharon, and Harmony, Inc. board member and Harmony Queen Christina Lewellen.

HEAD TO MUSIC CITY THIS JULY

Duane Allen on lifelong singing

Duane Allen knows a few things about harmony after spending a lifetime singing. You'll know him as the lead singer of the Oak Ridge Boys, but in Nashville he's one more working musician looking for the next great song. Here, he talks about the music in his life and in this city.

GET LOST! (BUT NOT REALLY...)
Video of the Week: Forefront
One of the best things about Midwinter is the opportunity for our guest quartets to get out of contest mode and bring out their show material. Old favorites, pet projects, and brand new charts all have made an appearance at the nightly shows. You just never know what you'll hear next! The audience loved this poignant ballad from Forefront... including a beauty of a tag.

CAN'T MISS TICKET OF THE WEEK
AIC preview: OC Times
2008 Champions OC Times brought California cool and a fresh approach to the quartet scene, making a name for themselves and emerging arranger Aaron Dale in the process. Singing better than ever, they are always a hit with audiences all over the country... and we can't wait to see what they are bringing to Nashville!

Make sure to pick up your tickets to see Vocal Spectrum, Instant Classic, Crossroads, and more in Nashville this summer, appearing at the incredible Schermerhorn Symphony Center for two star-studded shows.
