A FINE BROMANCE
A chance meeting, a magic moment,
as reported by an accomplished Barbershopper

"I wanted to bring your attention to a collaboration video that Chanticleer and Cantus - the only two full-time, all-male choral ensembles in America - made a few days ago. The impromptu video was made possible by an alignment of our touring schedules; I don't think the two ensembles have ever been in the same room together, or SUNG TOGETHER... ever! We decided to sing the indelible "Ave Maria" by Franz Biebl for this momentous occasion. We did not practice, nor is it a performance, but it functions more as bridging the gaps of the two popular choral groups in the country, promoting community singing, and showcasing men's close harmony.

The video can be found here or if you have a FB account, it's on our Chanticleer page. Feel free to share!!!!"

- Kory Reid, Assistant Music Director of the Grammy award-winning, all-male vocal ensemble, Chanticleer

Ready to make a difference?
Take action in 2016!
You can make a difference in your community. And the Barbershop Harmony Society can help fund those efforts.

Our Outreach Grants program supporting community music activities is now accepting applications. Whether it's a youth harmony workshop, a seniors outreach program, or a joint community singing program, we're seeking ways to make the world a better place through music.

In the Fall 2015 application window, the Society has already awarded more than $110,000 to chapters, districts and other organizations. A second application opportunity opens February 1, 2016, for projects taking place between June 1, 2016 through May 30th, 2017.

See the full details, along with application procedures and how-to videos, at www.barbershop.org/grants. Then get to work designing an event that will renew your chapter's faith in itself as an advocate and actor on behalf of music for everyone!
