BACK IN MY HOMETOWN
Cory Hunt to keynote at Midwinter in Reno
Reno's local barbershop boy-turned-champion Cory Hunt takes the stage this year to deliver the opening keynote address at the annual Midwinter Convention in Reno. A Reno native, Cory got his start in barbershop 21 years ago with the Reno Silver Dollar Chorus. After spending some time in the southern California region and winning a gold medal with the 2008 International Quartet Champion (and transcendent trendsetting ensemble) OC Times and perennial champs Westminster Chorus, he returned to his native home and is now, among other impressive-sounding titles, Director of the Northern Sales Region at the Nevada Governor's Office of Economic Development.
Cory brings many years of service and contribution to the barbershop art form, and now his experience in public service supporting and serving Nevada's governor, to the table in a keynote address you do not want to miss.

SONG OF WELCOME
Meet HQ's new A&R Manager, Scott Harris
Harmony Hall welcomed a new staff member this week! Musician, arranger, and all around swell guy Scott Harris has accepted the newly created role of Arranger and Repertoire Manager (A&R for short). He'll be the primary contact for our arrangers and will oversee the creation and editing of new and existing barbershop arrangements to be distributed and sold through the Society and through external partners.
Scott brings some serious music chops, as well as a background including teaching, collaborating with other artists, and working in a variety of musical styles. All that and he's already sung his first tag. (Any guy who starts out with Aura Lee and gets it the second time through is going to fit in just fine...) Welcome to the Barbershop family, Scott!
