We're definitely feeling that some good vibes will rub off on barbershop harmony when the a cappella all-father joins us for the Midwinter Convention.
Deke will direct the Youth Festival Chorus and emcee the event, which will be a peak experience for the singers and great fun for the audience. He'll be joining us just as his already-bright star burns even hotter, too. TWO major projects launch at about the same time: one, his Lifetime TV reality series, in which he coaches high school a cappella groups, and Vocalosity, a touring musical spectacle of a cappella.
Despite all that fancy-pants aca-fame, make no mistake about it: the man loves and respects barbershop, too -- he's famous for calling Barbershoppers the ninjas of a cappella and making barbershop just a little bit cooler.

The Crush announces retirement
"As The Crush looks back at the last 9 years, we can truly say it has been a great run. We've traveled to 15 states, 5 countries, competed in 7 International Conventions (3 of which were Top Ten finishes), and won a District Championship. After all those wonderful times and many great memories, we have decided it's time for this foursome to 'hang up our pitch pipes.' "
CBQC is now the Youth Barbershop Quartet Contest! After many, many conversations with members, competitors, and Music Educators, we are ready to roll out the next evolution of our youth outreach programs.
This small but mighty chorus stole the show at Midwinter in New Orleans. The young men of Cleveland Heights High School performed with exuberance, enthusiasm... and without a director. Talk about a singer-driven ensemble! Enjoy their completely charming performance of "Grandma's Feather Bed".

We provide two paths to be on faculty at HU. First, Harmony Hall reaches out to individuals who are doing great work and we simply invite them. This is way it was done since 1970... until last year.
