HFI: MAKING MUSIC HAPPEN
Harmony Foundation scholarships bring nearly 200 students to HU
HFI board member Lynn Weaver and her husband Doug present the official check for HU scholarships to Donny Rose. This $86,000 gift made attending HU possible for 120 chorus directors and music educators, several quartets, 50 Next Generation chorus members, and 20 Young Women in Harmony singers. If you are a donor, pat yourself on the back!
In addition to the presentation, HFI announced the Weaver Challenge: Doug and Lynn will provide a matching donation for each new HFI Donor that signs up this week, up to $25,000. Partway through the week, on our way to our goal of 100 New Donors, we have seen 43 New Donors step up! Two full days left, and 57 to go... Let's do this, HU!

Instant Classic hits the Nashville music scene
A dozen HU students learned from local musicians Jason Hargrove and Jared Hard in a unique new offering, "Songwriting: The Nashville Experience." Practical tips on collaborating with others and serving the song were followed by a trip the The Blue Bar for a songwriters showcase night. Newly crowned champs Instant Classic made a drop-in appearance, and wowed an unsuspecting audience. They capped the night by rising to Jared's challenge to barbershop a song he had written. No prob, Bob-- they RIPPED IT.
