Musical Island Boys
From the edge of the world to your town!
Champs now booking summer tour -- grab dates while you can!

It's pretty rare that a world champion quartet is available for an extended period, but the Musical island Boys are a pretty rare quartet. Crossing the Pacific is not done lightly, so the quartet wants to maximize its barbershop time while in North America. The quartet is now accepting inquiries for booking shows, schools, and outreach events Friday, June 12  through Sunday, June 28 inclusive. For full details, contact Matthew Gifford at  matt@musicalislandboys.co.nz  or phone 011+64 27 2877913.

Give the gift of togetherness with the Family Four-Pack

Fight consumerism this year by rethinking your gift-giving strategy. Pledge that 2015 will be the year that your family chooses to do things rather than acquire things. And what can be better to do as a family than to spend time together at a barbershop convention.

For $599, you can get registrations for four people, s savings of $217. With downtown convention hotels as low as $109 a night, you can put together a pretty attractive driving vacation for under a thousand dollars.

Drive? Sure! Pittsburgh is less than ten hours away from most of the Atlantic seaboard, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, St. Louis, Atlanta -- in fact, more than half the U.S. population is within 500 miles!

RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!
"Sweet Caroline"

As irresistible to audiences as "Shave And A Haircut" was to Roger Rabbit, this week's featured song will compel them to sing along at the chorus.

Master songwriter/hitmaker Neil Diamond went multi-platinum with "Sweet Caroline," and it's been a staple of soft-rock radio ever since. Dylan Oxford arranged it for quartet medalists A Mighty Wind, and Chris Arnold made our learning track.

Take this one out for a spin -- you'll feel like you're in Fenway Park in the eighth inning stretch. Try it:

"Hands...reaching out.. touching you... touching me....

Sweet Caroline!
BA! BA! BA!"

See? Couldn't stop yourself, could you? Go, infect audiences with this unstoppable hook.

MIDWINTER CONVENTION | January 6-11, 2015
All-Chapter Chorus Challenge: Donny Rose
We've set you up with a brilliant director, the Vocal Majority's Greg Clancy.

We've set you up with brilliant section leaders, the members of all five quartet medalists.

At this point, all that's required is some good old-fashioned male dominance behaviors. You know, the same things that got you to ride your bike down a too-steep hill because someone dared you, or got you into a fight over which high school football team was better, or got you to buy a Corvette. You know. Guy stuff.

So, here comes Donny Rose, Director of harmony University, calling out a few people he thinks ought to sing in this chorus.
Post your challenges on YouTube and email links to drose@barebrshop.org and we'll add it to the Wall of You Must Come. See more challenges at bit.ly/nolachallenge

Sign up today! You'll get a t-shirt, learning tracks, and sheet music.
