Harrington to direct Honors Chorus
Doug Harrington

Harmony University 2014 will offer more ways for more to people to find their own unique kinds of barbershop bliss. For some, that will mean a week of coaching in the Quartet College; for others, it will be exploring their own vocal capabilities through personalized vocal instruction; and for some, it will be singing in an elite ensemble conducted by a world-class director.

No faculty member is coming from farther away than Doug Harrington, our newest HU faculty member. The baritone of 1989 International Quartet Champion Second Edition, Doug is a master of interpretation, phrasing, and tuning. As the front line director of the impeccably clean zero8 chorus of Stockholm, Sweden, Doug has produced two CDs, multiple SNOBS titles, and a bronze medal in Portland.

The Honors Chorus will appear as a featured ensemble on the Saturday Night Show. Application for this chorus will be by audition and is open to Society members only. As a member of the Honors Chorus, you will be expected to arrive at Harmony U ready to sing, with music already memorized, so that the week-long experience will move quickly past fundamentals to excellence.

Audition materials will be available soon.

Scholarships can help you get to HU, even if you're a baritone
