Harmony Foundation International and the Contest & Judging program are teaming up to auction off the Best Seat in the House at Midwinter in Long Beach, California. If you've ever wanted to test out your judging chops, you can bid on a seat in the Judging Area and be a "Judge for a Day."
Register at www.BestSeat.org and bid for either contest session (Youth Chorus Adjudication or Seniors Quartet contest). Winners will sit with the judging panel, will be able to (unofficially) score contestants, will discuss the contest afterwards with the judges, and will participate in the evaluation sessions that follow. They will be afforded the same access and privileges as the official panel.
Funds raised by the BSITH program will be applied to the programs and projects supported by Harmony Foundation.

Voices of Gotham leverages its international contest performance -- LEGALLY
The problem: your best performance, shot in HD with multiple cameras, is potentially one of your best marketing tools, BUT posting it on YouTube would be a copyright infringement.
Admittedly, many performers ignore that latter clause and go ahead, ignoring the copyright laws. Others, however, conscientiously work within the system, and we're pleased to highlight them here.
Working with headquarters staff, the Voices of Gotham chorus secured the rights to offer its international contest performance on YouTube for a year, provided excerpts of "Rhapsody in Blue" were removed before uploading to the Voices of Gotham YouTube account. The result, mostly public domain songs plus some licensed copyrighted material, still makes a powerful impression, and is 100% legal. Nice work, guys.

Membership renewal now available on ebiz
Most members and Associates have received electronic dues renewal notices for the fourth quarter. To ensure speedy processing through the December holidays, we ask you to send back your renewal as quickly as possible.
To assist in that, online membership renewal is once again operational in our ebiz.barbershop.org members portal. Login, enter a credit card number on our secure server, and you can be finished in as little as three minutes.
As always, our Member Service Center staff is ready to help you renew by phone, especially if you need to change chapters, move into Frank H. Thorne Chapter-At-Large, etc. Just call 800-876-SING during regular business hours. The Service Center can also assist in quartet renewals, which are not presently offered online.
