75th Anniversary Webcast with
Ringmasters was a tremendous success!
 |
Flash mob with Ringmasters kicks off webcast in Times Square, NYC
|
You Can Still Watch It FREE!
Delayed viewing available until May 10
Presented by the Barbershop Harmony Society
and coordinated by Voices of Gotham
It was wonderful to see our current champ Ringmasters performing at the top of their game, and to see some of New York City's finest groups on hand in top form showcasing some of the best the Society has to offer.
A significant record was broken that day. Thanks to the wonderful PR efforts by the NYC-based barbershop groups, the Society, and the webcast host Opera Music Broadcast (who gave of their services for free, BTW), MORE THAN 110,000 people tuned in for the webcast. This broke the old record of 83,000 for their website. In fact, that day their website received over 500,000 hits based on their own PR efforts and mailing lists, so that is just a tremendous showing.
Our own website received over 22,000 page hits that day, which is at least as much, if not more, than the hits it receives during peak International Convention time.
YOU CAN STILL WATCH THIS AMAZING WEBCAST FREE HERE until May 10!. Click on the "songfest" link on your desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone.
Again, the webcast is FREE to all. So tell your friends, your chapter, your prospective members, your local music educators.

SWEDE HARMONY:
RINGMASTERS NAILED IT
ON THE TODAY SHOW!
Ringmasters did us proud with not just one - but two - spots on NBC's THE TODAY SHOW on April 11, and they knocked it out of the park!
View above shot with Matt Lauer and the TODAY SHOW team HERE. Later in the show they had Hoda and Kathie Lee singing along with the rhythm of "Eight Days A Week". Their appearance kicked off Barbershop Harmony Week and our 75th Anniversary with class and style. Great job, guys!
For more on the 75th Anniversary celebrations, go to the Society Website or check us out on Facebook.

We're Reaching Out to Touch You!
On April 1st, an army of volunteer callers began contacting every Society member by telephone. Members are being asked to give their opinion about the level of satisfaction with their own personal barbershop experience, and to recommend things that need to be added, changed, improved or deleted to improve the barbershop experience. Each member will also be given the opportunity to send a message directly to the CEO and/or society president.
Every member is invited to enlist as a soldier in the BHS volunteer army, to help with projects for the society and his district. Additionally, the calling team will be gathering information to compile a data base of skills and talents possessed by our members. The data base and comments will be used by society leaders to plan, create and lay the foundations of a better future for our society.
We hope you will be prepared to relate your membership experience, help develop the skills data base and share your vision for the future when one of our 23K project volunteers calls you. If someone calls and you are not at home, please help our calling team by returning the call.
Dare to be part of making dreams come true!

Ask Not What Your Society Can Do For You...
The 23K project needs approximately 200 volunteers to man the phones as we reach out to every member of our society. Each caller will be asked to make approximately 100 calls during a six month period. Volunteer callers can work at their own pace but must make a minimum of 2 calls per week. The length of each call varies---the average being 20 to 25 minutes. Callers will work from questionnaire on a dedicated web site, completing and filing each report on line.
Those who are interested and can make this commitment should contact Bud Laumann HERE. Bud will provide you with a formal invitation, log on information and complete instructions for making calls. A calling list of members in your time zone will be provided. Only those who are sincerely interested in meeting new friends and helping with this vital project should apply for enrollment as a member of the 23K calling team.
Callers who successfully complete 120 calls within the first six months of the program will be entered into a drawing for a VIP registration at the Las Vegas International convention. Two prizes will be awarded.
We're calling for your help. Can you answer?
