75th logo pinRemember the story of O.C. Cash's historic first meeting with 26 guys having a songfest? Just imagine if they had had modern technology and it could have been webcast!

Since we are now in the digital age, we are using that technology to commemorate that original songfest which started the Society 75 years ago, and you can watch for FREE! Just log on to barbershop.org HERE at 8 pm eastern time (7 central, 6 mountain, 5 Pacific) on Thursday April 11th. Click on the songfest link on your desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone, and enjoy Ringmasters as well as New York quartets, coordinated by Voices of Gotham and other choruses in a 75th Anniversary Songfest.

Again, the webcast is FREE to all. So tell your friends, your chapter, your prospective members, your local music educators. We'll put Ringmasters
up early (and often), so be sure to tune in at 8 pm eastern for this international celebration of Barbershop Harmony Society's 75th Anniversary.

NYC area members: You are invited to be part of the live audience at Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis High School, 120 W. 46th Street, Manhattan, NY 10036. Bring your family and friends!

Also, don't forget Ringmasters' appearance on THE TODAY SHOW the morning of April 11th.

23K Project

We're reaching out to touch you!

On April 1st (no foolin!), an army of volunteer callers will begin contacting every BHS member by telephone. You will be asked to give your opinion about the level of satisfaction with your own personal barbershop experienceand to recommend things that need to be added, changed, improved or deleted to improve the barbershop experience. Each member will also be given the opportunity to send a message directly to the CEO and/or society president.

Every member will be invited to enlist as a soldier in the BHS volunteer army, to help with projects for the society and his district. Additionally, the calling team will be gathering information to compile a data base of skills and talents possessed by our members. The data base and comments will be used by society leaders to plan, create and lay the foundations of a better future for our society.

We hope you will be prepared to relate your membership experience, help develop the skills data base and share your vision for the future when one of our 23K project volunteers calls you. If someone calls and you are not at home, please help our calling team by returning the call.

Dare to be part of making dreams come true!

Ask Not What Your Society Can Do For You...

The 23K project needs approximately 200 volunteers to man the phones as we reach out to every member of our society. Each caller will be asked to make approximately 100 calls during a six month period. Volunteer callers can work at their own pace but must make a minimum of 2 calls per week. The length of each call varies---the average being 20 to 25 minutes. Callers will work from questionnaire on a dedicated web site, completing and filing each report on line.

Those who are interested and can make this commitment should contact Bud Laumann HERE. Bud will provide you with a formal invitation, log on information and complete instructions for making calls. A calling list of members in your time zone will be provided. Only those who are sincerely interested in meeting new friends and helping with this vital project should apply for enrollment as a member of the 23K calling team.

Callers who successfully complete 120 calls within the first six months of the program will be entered into a drawing for a VIP registration at the Las Vegas International convention. Two prizes will be awarded.

We're calling for your help. Can you answer?
