Slain U.S. Ambassador to Libya
Had a Barbershop Past

      Chris Stevens
U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens, who was murdered in Libya on September 11, 2012, was remembered for his ability to connect with anyone, a trait that served him well in a life dedicated to peace and understanding. His life of significance touched many, including, surprisingly, the barbershop world. Stevens sang bass in The School Board barbershop quartet in a 1978 Piedmont, California High School production of The Music Man. His quartet mate, Chuck Dresel, remembered that Stevens excelled in choir and musicals, and was an excellent saxophonist. Says Dresel, "Chris devoted his life to fostering harmony. I remember him for his great sense of humor, his love of life, and for his endearing quality of always being interested in whatever you had to say. He was the quintessential bass ... never flat, even-toned, rock-solid ... in life as he was in the quartet. He will be missed."

Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience!

        Niagara Falls

Never been to Niagara Falls? Well, this is your chance to visit this spectacular wonder AND experience the excitement of the Society's 75th Anniversary with all your barbershop friends all in one trip, at the 75th Annual International
Convention in Toronto, June 30 through
July 7, 2013. With Niagara Falls only and hour or so away, it's the perfect combination for a couples retreat, or a family vacation!

Edgewalk Toronto While you're in Toronto, take in all the sights! For all you non-acrophobics, you can literally "hang out" at the CN Tower, recently nominated one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World, featuring glass floor observation decks and a revolving restaurant. It is rumored that one of our quartets will sing from Edgewalk (pictured) - if they can catch their breath - and you do not want to miss seeing the video afterward.

This special 75th Convention will feature huge displays of past costumes and other historical artifacts both from the Society and from Districts. Oh, yes and of course you'll enjoy terrific performances from Ringmasters, Ambassadors of Harmony, Lemon Squeezy, Rusty Pipes and more!

Check out more about Toronto HERE.  Register HERE.
