Safekids - Parent Information/Education Night
February 4, 6:00 p.m.
|
SunGateKids, a nationally accredited Child Advocacy Center, has created a program specific to the prevention of physical and sexual abuse. SungateKids SafeKids (SK2) was created to teach children how to keep their bodies safe. Lenski is excited to partner with these experts in this field to provide an important learning opportunity for our students, staff and parents. Children learn about the dynamics of child physical abuse and sexual abuse through the use of puppets in an age-appropriate, interactive, performance-based assembly. We will offer assemblies to our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students this year, in addition to parent and staff education about this program,
A parent information/education night will be offered on February 4, 2016 at 6 p.m. in our Media Center. SK2 will provide an overview of the program, child abuse education, resources, and provide time for questions and answers. PLEASE NOTE: This is for parents only and no childcare will be available.

Love From Lenski and Children's Book Drive February 9 and February 10, 11:00 am - 1:30 pm
|
Every year, during the Valentine's Day holiday, our thoughtful Lenski students take time during their lunch hour to write out messages of encouragement to individuals in the community who could use some kind wishes and "Cheer". This year, these special Valentines will be delivered to Someren Glen (formerly the Johnson Center) located directly across Arapahoe Road from our school. The facility offers care to seniors ranging from Assisted Living to Hospice Care. There are over 500 members of the Someren Glen community and we would like to ensure that all of these special individuals receive a Valentine from a Lenski student.
How can you help? Encourage your student to participate in the lunch hour activity! We will be decorating the Valentine's on Tuesday February 9th and Wednesday February 10th from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the Lenski cafeteria.
This year, in conjunction with warming the hearts in our community, we will also be hosting a gently-used children's book drive. Please have your students bring in gently used children's books between February 3 and February 12, and place them in the boxes located in Lenski's front lobby. The donated items will be taken to the Village North Preschool in downtown Littleton. It is part of Littleton Public Schools and serves children and families in our district. The Village North Preschool is also in need of gently used small stuffed animals (to be used as reading buddies) and school supplies.

Meet Margie Bradley, Love From Lenski Coordinator
|

Hello! My name is Margie Bradley and this is my second year of many to come as a Lenski parent. My husband Nate and I have three children: Paige is 7 and in 1st grade, Keaton is 4 and will start Kindergarten at Lenski next year, and Kellen, our youngest, is 2! In total our tenure as a Lenski Family will be 11 consecutive years! That being said, I am just getting my feet wet with my involvement with Lenski and the PTO. I have been able to volunteer in Paige's classroom since kindergarten, and I am currently a co-room parent for Mrs. Miller's first grade class. This year I am the coordinator of a program that is part of the PTO Community Outreach, called Love from Lenski. This is a great event for both the students and the community as students make Valentine's Day cards that are distributed to residents at a local assisted living facility. Please encourage your student to participate to help make this Valentine's Day brighter for a Lenski neighbor! I am excited to be a part of such an amazing community of parent volunteers and look forward to my family's years at Lenski.
