Meet Sarah Wells, PTO VIPS Co-Lead (Volunteers in Public Schools)
|
We're the Wells Family - Ian, Sarah, Truman and Macrae. Both are sons are Lenski stars, 4th grade and kinder respectively.
We moved into LPS because the schools are better suited for their styles of learning. As parents, we want the best for our kids - top of the line education, state of the art technology, stimulating environment, caring teachers and staff, friendly parents and students and supportive community. We found all we needed at Lenski.
Barb DeSpain is an amazing leader - strong, articulate, intelligent, creative, funny and supportive. When I volunteer at Lenski, she is always walking the building, watching over kiddos at recess, hosting tours or introducing me to people in the building. So far, the teachers have been a great fit for each of our boys and everyone listens to and responds to our needs. Every time.
Thank you Lenski PTO for working so hard at raising money and creating a better environment for ALL students. Last year, I made a promise to my family that I would get involved within the school. Was I nervous? Yes. Was I intimidated? Little bit. Was it difficult to carve out time? Some times. Because I got out of my own way, I know the staff, teachers, volunteers, kids and parents. Because I choose to be involved consistently, I know more. Gratitude and empathy go a long way. My involvement creates better relationships and opportunity for conversations that impact my sons' futures. I appreciate the district, it's leaders and know I have a voice that matters. Without the Lenski PTO and smart administrative planning and spending, we wouldn't have extra teaching power that enables smaller class sizes and better teaching/technology to student ratios. Most importantly, our kids are safe, happy and getting stronger, smarter, and more responsible everyday. So far, so great.
Thank you LPS, Barb, Lenski staff, and PTO!
