Colorado Gives Day!

Have you heard about Colorado Gives Day? It is an exciting, annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving. This year Colorado Gives Day is on Tuesday, December 8th and all donations are accepted through ColoradoGives.org.
What is even more exciting is that the Lenski PTO is one of the non-profit organizations that you can contribute to via an online donation. So, you have a terrific opportunity to participate in the statewide Colorado Gives Day AND support Lois Lenski DIRECTLY. Funds raised for the Lenski PTO will go directly to our Annual Giving Campaign, which support specials teachers' salaries to ensures that all of our students receive small-group, differentiated learning. To contribute to Lois Lenski PTO, please go to http://ColoradoGives.org/Lenski. Have family & friends out of state? They can contribute too! Send them this information, post it on your social media pages and they can participate in Colorado Gives Day too!

5th Grade Performance: Over the Seas To The Colonies
December 8 at 6:00 pm - PLEASE NOTE EARLIER PERFORMANCE TIME

 The Lois Lenski 5th grade classes will be performing a musical and informational production based on the history and culture of the early colonists. Come to our production and experience stories, facts, folk songs, dances, play parties, and music from this time period!
WHO: ALL Lois Lenski 5th grade students and their guests
WHAT: A production based on the earliest immigrants who colonized the U.S.
WHEN: Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 6:00-6:45 p.m. - performers, please report to your classroom by 5:50 p.m. PLEASE NOTE EARLIER PERFORMANCE TIME!!!
WHERE: Lois Lenski Elementary multi-purpose room
WHY: To share with you what we've learned about the early American colonists
WEAR? It is a long standing tradition that performers dress up for their audience. (No sweats please!)

Holiday Outreach - The Spirit of the Season!
Now Through December 11

The holidays are fast approaching and it's time once again for Lenski's Holiday Outreach program. Your donation of cash or gift cards (Walmart, Target, Toys "R" Us, King Soopers, etc.) - no matter the size - can really make a difference to families within our community this holiday season. A new King Soopers gift card is a great gift idea and will also give 5% to Lenski!
Donations will be collected from now until Friday, December 11th. Please drop donations off in the school office (look for the gift-wrapped donation box) or send to school in your child's folder in an envelope marked Holiday Outreach. Checks are payable to Lois Lenski PTO. Company matches are welcomed. Thank you so much for your generosity and for providing some holiday cheer!

Meet Nancy Seavall, PTO Holiday Outreach

Hi, my name is Nancy Seavall and I am heading this year's Holiday Outreach Program. Our family has been a part of Lenski for years now. My daughter Nicole is a junior at Arapahoe High School, my son Jack is in 8th grade at Powell and my youngest, Ashley, is in third grade. My husband, Grant, and I are very proud that our three children have been lucky enough to come through Lenski.
Our family feels that giving back to our community is very important and the Holiday Outreach is perfect opportunity to do so. The PTO sponsors the Holiday Outreach program which provides assistance to Lenski families experiencing financial difficulties during the holiday season. Our commitment is to collect funds which we can provide gift cards to these families to use for food, necessities and gifts for their children. Dr. DeSpain and Ms. Vogel handle the details of the families to ensure confidentiality.
I have been so lucky to volunteer in this school in various capacities in the past, but I am honored to help contribute in a small way heading this very necessary and important role for our community.
Here are ways you can help:- Make a tax-deductible donation, checks payable to Lenski PTO-Holiday Outreach
- Buy a gift card from a store like King Soopers, Wal-Mart or Target
The Deadline for donations is Friday, December 11th. You can send donations into the Lenski 's front office or send in with your child's take home folder marked "Holiday Outreach". Thank you so much for helping make Lenski a great place.

Use Lenski-Linked King Soopers and Safeway Cards This December - and Give Lenski a 5% Gift!

 December is here, and we know you can finish the year with a bounty of reloads on your Lenski-linked King Soopers and Safeway cards! Our school PTO gets 5% cash back, automatically, each time you reload. Pay for all your holiday goodies -- baked ham, fruit jam, striped candy canes, festive poinsettias, baking ingredients, creamy eggnog, a tank of gas, a wreath for the door, and more -- using your Lenski-linked King Soopers or Safeway grocery card.

Community Support Services Available

 Please be aware there are many programs available to families in need of support services, especially during the holiday season. Click here to find information about programs and services offered in our community for diverse needs such as parenting resources, medical care, counseling, transportation, food/clothing, housing and legal services. Please contact the Lenski office at 303-347-4575 if you would like additional information or if you have immediate needs. All family information is kept confidential.

2016-2017 Kindergarten Registration - Informational Sessions
|
If you have a child who will be entering kindergarten for the 2016-2017 school year and you would like to learn more about our school and kindergarten program, please plan on attending one of our new parent orientation and open house days. If you are in the Lenski attendance area, we recommend you attend a session at 9:30 AM or 2:00 PM on any of the following dates:
- December 9
- December 16
- January 6
- January 13
- January 20
If you live outside of the Lenski attendance area, please call the school office and schedule a one-on-one tour with the principal so that you can see students engaged in learning.

Lenski Toy Drive
Now Through December 14
|
Please help Lenski Girl Scout Troop 495 and Toys for Tots make a better holiday for less fortunate children in our community. If you would like to help, please drop a new, unwrapped toy in the collection box outside the office through December 14th. If you would like more information on Toys for Tots, please visit their website.

Lenski Enrichment Registrations for January 2016 Classes Available for Download!

 Lenski Parents:
The registration forms for enrichment classes starting in January 2016 are available on the Lenski website. Registrations for some classes fill up fast! If you are enrolling your students, please download and complete your form and return it to the providing vendor or Lenski office as directed on the form. Please complete a form for each student for each class. Forms are also available in the Lenski office.
