Spooky Streets - This Friday! Sign In For Lenski!!

Thank you for taking the time to go over to Streets at Southglenn and sign in.  By getting as many people as we can to sign in at this event we will increase our changes in earning Lenski $2,500 that we can use to help our school earn even more money for PTO needs.

Signing in will take just a few moments of your time and 1,000 points per person is an easy and inexpensive way to help the school! Plus the kids will have fun!  Thanks.

Lenski's Food Drive - Each Classroom That Fills Its Box By Friday Receives a Treat!!
EACH CLASSROOM THAT FILLS ITS BOX BY FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23RD WILL RECEIVE A TREAT!!

Lenski's Food Drive is in full swing!  Although we have received many generous donations over the past few weeks, Lenski donations are a little short in terms of how much we have collected in past years. Please note all donated food contributes directly to students within our LPS community. Please consider donating nutritious, easy to prepare, non-perishable foods with kid appeal. For a list of suggested items, please click here.  There is a special need for peanut butter/jelly, cereal, oatmeal, hearty granola/breakfast bars, and canned fruit & applesauce.   Please do not send glass and/or expired food. If possible, smaller cans are appreciated.

Stride Is This Sunday!! It's Not Too Late To Register!
The Littleton Stride is this Sunday, October 25th, and there is still time to register!!
 
Please join us as we run for health and wellness while supporting Littleton Public Schools. We want to hold on to our trophy, and WIN the $1,000.00 grant that can be used for our Physical Education program here at Lenski!  They've changed the rules this year--the ONLY way we can win the grant is by increasing our participation numbers over last year! We need you to register!!
 
There are two ways to register:
1. Go online at runthestride.com through this Friday October 23rd at noon.
2. In person at Boulder Running Company through Wednesday October 21st at 6 pm.
 
Please note:
*race day registration is available but Lenski will NOT receive credit towards the competition.
*only 5K and 10k participants count towards the competition, and only these race participants receive t-shirts.
 
Not sure you can make it to the race? Thinking you may want to sleep in? No problem! Please consider registering your student, and they will still receive a t-shirt to enjoy!  GO LENSKI!!!

National Lunch Week - Raffle Prizes!
October 19 - 23
Nutrition Services is excited to announce we will be celebrating National School Lunch Week This Week through 23, 2015.  To encourage students to participate in our meal program, we will be holding a week long raffle with prizes at each school.

How it works:  Each student that eats lunch with us on these dates will automatically be entered to win a prize from a drawing at the end of the week. Our computer system will do the automatic drawing. Each school will receive one grand prize, as well as two runner-up prizes.
 
Grand Prize: 2 Jump Street Passes
Runner-Up Prizes: Regal Cinemas Movie Ticket (never expires)

Lenski Enrichment Registration Forms For October/November Classes Available on Lenski Website
The registration forms for enrichment classes starting in October/November are available on the  Lenski website.  Registrations for some classes fill up fast!  If you are enrolling your students, please download and complete your form and return it to the providing vendor or Lenski office as directed on the form.  Please complete a form for each student for each class.  Forms are also available in the Lenski office.

Colorado Safe Schools Activities in LPS During October
The Month of October, 2015 is designated as Colorado Safe Schools Month. Littleton Public Schools will observe this month by sponsoring district-wide activities to promote school and student safety.  Following is information for two workshops being held this month:

Parent Workshop: Cyber Savvy Parent Workshop
-presented by Littleton Public Schools and the Arapahoe Library District

When:  October 29th 6:30-8:30 PM

Where:  Ames Facility 7300 S. Clermont Drive.

Content:  Parents will hear from experts in the community regarding relevant issues concerning today's youth and their use of technology. There will also be a help desk for parents seeking resources for parental controls See the attached flyer for registration information.

Parent/Community Training: SafeTALK Suicide Prevention

When: Monday, October 26 4:00- 7:00pm

Where: Educational Services Center- 5776 S. Crocker St. Littleton

Content:  LPS trainers will present safeTALK, a free 3-hour training that prepares participants to identify and link a person at risk of suicide with suicide first aid resources. This is a great opportunity for parents, coaches, or other community members who want to know how to help a potentially suicidal person.  Please RSVP to Cathy Carr at 303- 347-3539 or ccarr@lps.k12.co.us. The Boxtop Winner Is...
 
 
Congratulations to Ms. Almer's 4th Grade Class, winner of the Root Beer Float Party, with 1536 box tops.  Second place is Ms. Brooks with 911 and Third place is Ms. Warner with 752.    

The next contest for a pizza party will start January 1, 2016 - so keep saving those boxtops!
