School Spirit Tastes Great 
Make dinner a selfless act by joining us for a Fundraiser to support Lenski Elementary.  Come into the 7515 S. University Boulevard Chipotle on Tuesday, October 20 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.  Bring in a flyer , show it on your smartphone or tell the cashier you're supporting the cause to make sure that 50% of the proceeds will be donated to Lenski Elementary.

To avoid lines, come early or order online and come pick up your order.  Just be sure to mention Lenski!!

Please Enter Your Data - Even If You Did So Last Year!!!
For the second year, Lenski will be using a paperless format for our student directory!  You can access the directory either online or through a free app that is available for download to your Smartphone, making the directory accessible anytime and "on the go!"
 
To gather the information needed for our directory, an  online form has been made available on the Lenski website.  Even if you were in the directory last year, we need you to re-enter your information for the new directory. 

DirectorySpot, considered safe and secure, will collect the information and put together our online directory. If you would like more information on the security features, please feel free to visit www.directoryspot.net and click on the "Why use us" tab.
 
The deadline for collecting the information is October 16, 2015. Anyone who has not updated their information prior to October 16 will be deleted from the current system. 
 
*Please note that by completing this form,  you are giving Lenski Elementary permission to include your family contact information in our online directory.

National Lunch Week - Raffle Prizes!
October 19 - 23
Nutrition Services is excited to announce we will be celebrating National School Lunch Week October 19 through 23, 2015.  To encourage students to participate in our meal program, we will be holding a week long raffle with prizes at each school.

How it works:  Each student that eats lunch with us on these dates will automatically be entered to win a prize from a drawing at the end of the week. Our computer system will do the automatic drawing. Each school will receive one grand prize, as well as two runner-up prizes.
 
Grand Prize: 2 Jump Street Passes
Runner-Up Prizes: Regal Cinemas Movie Ticket (never expires)

Lenski Enrichment Registration Forms For October/November Classes Available on Lenski Website
The registration forms for enrichment classes starting in October/November are available on the  Lenski website.  Registrations for some classes fill up fast!  If you are enrolling your students, please download and complete your form and return it to the providing vendor or Lenski office as directed on the form.  Please complete a form for each student for each class.  Forms are also available in the Lenski office.

Stride Registration Deadline Approaching!  Paper Registration Forms Due By Noon Friday!
 
Have you registered for the 20th annual Littleton Stride? Paper registration forms are due by noon this Friday, October 16th. Feel free to drop them off in the front office during parent teacher conferences. Participants who take advantage of in-school registration will receive their race bibs and t-shirts the week before the race. Please remember that each participant must have a signed waiver.
 
You may also register online at runthestride.com through October 23rd, or at Boulder Running Company through October 21st.

Turn in Those Boxtops! The Contest Ends Friday!
 
It is the 4th and final week of the Boxtop Contest to Win a Root Beer Float Party!  Contest ends this Friday, October 16.  
The classroom envelopes will be counted to determine who wins the Root Beer Float Party.

Colorado Safe Schools Activities in LPS During October
The Month of October, 2015 is designated as Colorado Safe Schools Month. Littleton Public Schools will observe this month by sponsoring district-wide activities to promote school and student safety.  Following is information for two workshops being held this month:

Parent Workshop: Cyber Savvy Parent Workshop
-presented by Littleton Public Schools and the Arapahoe Library District

When:  October 29th 6:30-8:30 PM

Where:  Ames Facility 7300 S. Clermont Drive.

Content:  Parents will hear from experts in the community regarding relevant issues concerning today's youth and their use of technology. There will also be a help desk for parents seeking resources for parental controls See the attached flyer for registration information.

Parent/Community Training: SafeTALK Suicide Prevention

When: Monday, October 26 4:00- 7:00pm

Where: Educational Services Center- 5776 S. Crocker St. Littleton

Content:  LPS trainers will present safeTALK, a free 3-hour training that prepares participants to identify and link a person at risk of suicide with suicide first aid resources. This is a great opportunity for parents, coaches, or other community members who want to know how to help a potentially suicidal person.  Please RSVP to Cathy Carr at 303- 347-3539 or ccarr@lps.k12.co.us. Lenski's Food Drive
October 1 - 31
October is here, and it is time for Lenski's annual Fall Food Drive! Again this year, we will be contributing to the needs of students within our LPS community.  Please consider donating nutritious, easy to prepare, non-perishable foods with kid appeal. For a list of suggested items, please click here.  Please do not send glass and/or expired food. If possible, smaller cans are appreciated. There will be donation boxes in every classroom throughout the month of October.

Run Club - One Week Left!

Train for The Stride with Lenski's Running Club! If you love exercise, fun & prizes, meet your friends on Lenski's soccer field during lunch recesses. This coming Monday, October 19 is the last day!
 
Remember comfortable shoes, water bottles, and a great attitude! Membership is open (and free) to all Lenski students. Parent participation is welcomed; run with your kids or volunteer to assist here.  
 
With the first mile completed, each student receives a chain bracelet and a foot charm.  Please help your child keep track of the bracelet - as each child receives the bracelet only with the first mile.  With each mile run, a foot or shoe charm is added to the bracelet.  Additional or replacement bracelets can be purchased in the office for 25 cents!

Spooky Streets - Fun At Streets of Southglenn
October 23, 4:30 pm


Thank you for taking the time to go over to Streets at Southglenn and sign in.  By getting as many people as we can to sign in at this event we will increase our changes in earning Lenski $2,500 that we can use to help our school earn even more money for PTO needs.

Signing in will take just a few moments of your time and 1,000 points per person is an easy and inexpensive way to help the school! Plus the kids will have fun!  Thanks.
