Annual Giving Campaign -Hurry!

Hurry! Hurry! Hurry! The official campaign ends TOMORROW, Thursday, October 1st!
This is the easiest school fundraiser around and 100% of your donations go directly to the TEACHERS in order to provide our students with the individualized learning they need and which makes Lois Lenski so great! We know that is why you chose to send your child to Lenski...let's keep up the tradition!
We need to continue to give to reach our goal of $75,000 and 100% family participation. As of today, we have received $32,000 and with just 30% family participation. We are so grateful for what we have already received, but we still have a long way to go. Every donation makes a difference!
Don't forget every family that donates by Thursday, October 1st will be entered into our drawing for a $50.00 gift card to Regal Theaters!

 Join us for the PTO General Meeting this Thursday evening, October 1 at 6:45 pm in the Lenski Library. Our guest speaker will be Mike Porter, Technology Director, Information Technology Services from Littleton Public Schools to talk to parents about kids and social media.

Lenski's Food Drive

 October is here, and it is time for Lenski's annual Fall Food Drive! Again this year, we will be contributing to the needs of students within our LPS community. Please consider donating nutritious, easy to prepare, non-perishable foods with kid appeal. For a list of suggested items, please click here. Please do not send glass and/or expired food. If possible, smaller cans are appreciated. There will be donation boxes in every classroom throughout the month of October.

Meet Sarah Franklin, PTO Hospitality Co-Lead
|
Hi! My name is Sarah Franklin and I am excited to be one of the co-leads (along with Leslie Suh) for the hospitality position with the PTO. Hospitality is a fun role as we get to be involved with so many functions throughout the year, including the new family ice cream social, staff luncheons, kindergarten registration, teacher appreciation week and so much more!
My husband, Jon, and I both grew up in the Centennial area and always knew that we wanted to raise our family here. Jon and I have two children. Cecelie, our oldest, is in first grade and our son Will, is three years old and looking forward to coming to Lenski in a couple of years. Last year was our first year at Lenski and we had such a wonderful experience. I was fortunate enough to be a room parent and volunteer in the classroom as well as participate in and attend many of the Lenski functions, which included assisting with the staff appreciation luncheon last spring. I was so impressed with how much the parents, staff and Lenski community truly care about the well-being of our kids that I couldn't help but want to be a part of the PTO. The Lenski PTO is an outstanding organization and I look forward to a wonderful school year and helping out in any way that I can.

Register Now for The Littleton Stride

The Littleton Stride is just around the corner!! Did you know that Lenski had almost 454 participants at the Stride last year? Our Lenski kids, teachers and parents are so proud of that beautiful trophy and our school's commitment to health and wellness. Let's win it again!!
When: Sunday, October 25th, 2015
Where: Event starts and finishes at Littleton Museum and winds through the beautiful residential community surrounding the park.
What: 5k and 10K run/walk or Kids Fun Run (registration for the Fun Run does not count towards our participation numbers)
There are 3 ways to register:
1. Online at runthestride.com (there is a small online registration fee). Deadline: NOON Friday, October 23rd. 2. Paper registration: look for registration forms to come home in your child's backpack or click on Registration Form or Registration Details to print another copy. Simply fill them out, attach your check and return to school. One signed registration form must accompany EACH participant. T-shirts and bibs will be distributed to your children the week before the race. Deadline: Noon on Friday, October 16th. 3. In stores: you can register in person at Boulder Running Company in Littleton or Greenwood Village (Arapahoe Road). You will receive your bib and shirts at that time. Deadline: Wednesday, October 21st at 6:00 pm.
Please note: Only 5K and 10K registrations count towards our participation numbers. Also, performance material shirts come in adult sizes only. The Youth size t-shirt is cotton long sleeve.

Run Club - Counting Down to the Stride
|
Train for The Stride with Lenski's Running Club! If you love exercise, fun & prizes, meet your friends on Lenski's soccer field during lunch recesses every Monday from now until The Stride (October 25th).
Remember comfortable shoes, water bottles, and a great attitude! Membership is open (and free) to all Lenski students. Parent participation is welcomed; run with your kids or volunteer to assist here.
 With the first mile completed, each student receives a chain bracelet and a foot charm. Please help your child keep track of the bracelet - as each child receives the bracelet only with the first mile. With each mile run, a foot or shoe charm is added to the bracelet. Additional or replacement bracelets can be purchased in the office for 25 cents!

 For the second year, Lenski will be using a paperless format for our student directory! You can access the directory either online or through a free app that is available for download to your Smartphone, making the directory accessible anytime and "on the go!"
To gather the information needed for our directory, an online form has been made available on the Lenski website. Even if you were in the directory last year, we need you to re-enter your information for the new directory.
DirectorySpot, considered safe and secure, will collect the information and put together our online directory. If you would like more information on the security features, please feel free to visit www.directoryspot.net and click on the "Why use us" tab.
The deadline for collecting the information is October 16, 2015. Anyone who has not updated their information prior to October 16 will be deleted from the current system.
*Please note that by completing this form, you are giving Lenski Elementary permission to include your family contact information in our online directory.
