Annual Giving Campaign - All Contributions Are Appreciated!!

A huge thank you to the families that have already submitted their donation to our Annual Giving Campaign.
As of Sunday, we had contributions from 14% of our Lenski Families totaling $16,000!
With only 30 days left until the campaign ends, we really need your help! As you know our goal is $75,000 for this school year and 100% of family participation! All of your contributions are significant in helping us achieve our goal of supporting teacher salaries so that Lenski can continue to provide small group instruction to our students. This money benefits ALL of our students!
There is more!! Do you and your kids love the movies?? All families who submit their Annual Giving donation by October 1st will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift certificate to Regal Cinemas! Regal Cinemas include the movie theaters at South Glenn, Greenwood Village, Park Meadows, & Monaco to name just a few. You can find one near your neighborhood.
Remember there are 3 ways to donate...
- Donate one time online with your credit card. Click here and then click on View Event to access the Lenski Annual Giving Campaign
- Donate monthly online with your credit card. Click here and then click on View Event to access the Lenski Annual Giving Campaign. Please note: If in previous years you have set up a recurring monthly donation, you will need to sign up once again this school year because we have gone to a new system.
- Send in a check made out to Lenski PTO with the information below and turn in at the office or in your child's folder. (Please use an envelope with Annual Giving written on the outside.)
Do not forget to check in with your company and see if you can double your donation! As a 501(c)3 nonprofit Lois Lenski Elementary PTO qualifies for Corporate Matching. Please ask your company if they match donations and if they do use the following Tax ID number: 84-1501737. If you are planning to file a corporate match please let us know (mary.wehrer@comcast.net) so that we can track it.

Blood Drive - Sign Up to Donate!
September 18

 On Friday, September 18th, Lenski will host its Fall Blood Drive to benefit Children's Hospital from 9am to 1pm. The blood donation process takes about 30 to 45 minutes total, from arrival, paperwork, a brief interview to the actual blood draw. Donors should have something to eat and hydrate beforehand. We will have snacks available after your donation. Please know that 30 minutes of your time could mean a lifetime to a child in need!

Children's Hospital's guidelines for blood donors are as follows:
- Are in good health
- Have not donated blood in the last 56 days
- Are symptom free of a cold or flu
- Are at least 18 years of age, or 17 with written parental consent
- Weigh at least 110 pounds
- Have not delivered a baby in the last six weeks
- Have no history of, or risk factors for, HIV/AIDS
- Have not had any tattoos or body piercings within the last year
- Have not traveled to a malaria risk area within the last year
- Have not spent 3 months or more in the UK from 1980 to present
- Answer a series of medical history/lifestyle questions which determine eligibility

Fab Film Friday - RSVP Now!

 Come 'Meet the Robinsons', and the Smiths, Jones, and Wilsons!! Did you know that 15% of our families are new to Lenksi? Join us on Friday, September 18th at 6 pm at Lenski's inaugural Fab Film Friday fundraiser that will welcome us all to the Lenski community after a wonderful summer! The PTO is hosting an outdoor movie event on the Lenski lawn featuring the movie, Meet the Robinsons. Prior to the movie, we will have fun family games, a cake walk, basketball competition, and dinner concessions. After the movie, we will have drawings for really cool experiences, including The Clue Room, Nuggets Tickets, Dodgeball, and so much more! Your youngest child will bring home a RSVP flyer that will include concession packages and drawing tickets selections that you can return with payment by Friday, Sept. 11th, so that we have your tickets waiting for you at the door. Shorter lines and no writing out of tickets! Not sure of your plans that evening, walk-ups are always welcome! As with all PTO events, we need volunteers and donations for the evening. Please click here to sign-up for volunteer slots and donations. Please note that this is a family event, so kids cannot be dropped off without adult supervision. Also, we are not charging admission due to copyright laws and minimizing overhead costs. However, we greatly appreciate any pre-paid or at-the-door donations to offset some of the cost of the movie. Your generosity makes a difference to our children and teachers!

Meet Mary Wehrer, Annual Giving Campaign
|
Hi, my name is Mary Wehrer and this is the first year that I am heading up the Annual Giving Fundraiser. My husband Michael and I have two kids at Lenski this year, my daughter Zoey in Second grade and our son Sam who just started Kindergarten. Since we have been at Lenski I have worked in the classrooms, library and I have helped out at several of our family functions including the Spring Auction. Each experience has been highly gratifying and given me an even deeper view of the wonderful families, teachers and students that make up our Lenski community. Both of my children are having great experiences so far and we feel very lucky to be part of such a wonderful school that care's so much about the success and future of all of our children.

 Roll out the barrel, raise your stein and be our guest at our first ever "It Starts at Lenski" Oktoberfest! - Authentic German Food Truck & free flowing German Beer & wine!
- Live music by the Polkanauts!
- Polka Dancing, traditional Oktoberfest contest & endless Merriment! Feel free to come dressed in your favorite German attire!
Saturday September 12th from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the Cherry Court Cul-de-sac in Heritage Greens! Parking available on Links Parkway & Links Drive. Tickets are still available - $45 per person.

Online Directory For Lenski - Enter Your Data Now!
|
 For the second year, Lenski will be using a paperless format for our student directory! You can access the directory either online or through a free app that is available for download to your Smartphone, making the directory accessible anytime and "on the go!"
To gather the information needed for our directory, an online form has been made available on the Lenski website. You can click through this email here, or on the Lenski home page, simply find the link in the newsfeed, click on it, follow the directions and complete the form. DirectorySpot, considered safe and secure, will collect the information and put together our online directory. If you would like more information on the security features, please feel free to visit www.directoryspot.net and click on the "Why use us" tab.
The deadline for collecting the information is October 16, 2015.
*Please note that by completing this form, you are giving Lenski Elementary permission to include your family contact information in our online directory.

Room Parent Sign-Up Now Available!
|
 Being a room parent is a GREAT way to be involved in your child's classroom with minimal commitment of in-class volunteer time. Much of the planning and coordination can happen on your own time as your schedule permits. A room parent's responsibilities include planning the fall festival party (held on the afternoon of Oct. 30th), coordinating optional teacher gifts before winter break and at year-end, and assisting the PTO with teacher appreciation week in the spring.
More details on each of these activities will be shared with the selected room parents at the room parent orientation meeting in September. There will be two room parents for each classroom so you can share in the fun (and the responsibility) with another parent in your class! Please remember to complete your 2015-16 Online Annual Family Check-In as soon as possible. This is done through your Infinite Campus Family Portal account. Completing this information is required by all primary household parents/guardians prior to September 8, 2015. Please log into the Campus Portal here, and then go to the Inbox where there is a Family Check-In message. By clicking on this message, parents will be taken directly into online the online Family Check In. For more information, please click here.

Lenski New Fee Payment Process Available Now!

This year at Lenski we will begin a new process to pay for classroom fees and field trips. Available now, you have the option to pay student fees online using a credit card through the parent portal, or you can send in payment to the Lenski Office.
