       annualgiving
Lenski Annual Giving Campaign Kick-Off
School has started and Annual Giving is in full swing! If you have not donated yet, please take a moment to contribute to this important fundraiser.   Our goal is $75,000 and because we are not having an auction this year Annual Giving becomes our most important way to raise funds for our specialty teach salaries!
Lenski Annual Giving ends on October 1st and as you know 100% of the money raised goes to our Lenski Community in the form of specialty teacher salaries that support small group learning in literacy and math.   All of our students benefit from this support and it is these types of programs that keep Lenski one of the top elementary schools in the state.

Although our suggested amount is $175-$200 per student, we are grateful for any amount and monthly contributions are gladly accepted.  You can also place a monthly donation (taken over 9 months).

Remember - There are three EASY ways to donate:

  • Donate one time online with your credit card.  Click here and just click on View Event for the Lenski Annual Giving Campaign
  • Donate monthly online with your credit card. Click here and just click on View Event for the Lenski Annual Giving Campaign
  • Send in a check made out to Lenski PTO (Please use an envelope with "Annual Giving" written on the outside.)

Did you know that you can double your donation?   As a 501(c)3 nonprofit Lois Lenski Elementary PTO qualifies for Corporate Matching.  If your company matches donations, please ask about it at work and use this Tax ID number: 84-1501737.  If you are planning to file a corporate match please let us know (mary.wehrer@comcast.net) so we can track it.

Meet Dana McDermott, PTO Co-President

My name is Dana McDermott - your Co -PTO President of Lois Lenski Elementary. I would like to welcome everyone to an exciting 2015-2016 school year. This year is a sad, yet very exciting year for my family.   This is our last year as active members of this wonderful Lenski family.  My husband Shawn and I will miss being part of the amazing community Lenski provides for all families enrolled.
This is my second year as Co-PTO President and I truly have to say it is the most favorite position I have held since joining PTO 7 years ago. I have two children, Connor who's 11 and now a 6th grader at Powell Middle School and Corbin who's 10 and 5th grader at Lenksi. I'm so thankful for the wonderful individuals my kids have become. I attribute a huge part of that to the Lenski community -- the saying "It takes a village" holds true in our school.   I encourage each and every parent this year to get involved as much as you can throughout this school year. It is such a reward to see your child's face when his or her parent shows up just to help another group of children read for an hour. It is our volunteers who help out on a weekly basis that allow our teachers to accomplish what they can in a school year. Without you, it is impossible. I would like to "Thank you" for choosing Lois Lenski Elementary as the school for your family. We all have a choice, and without this community and staff we wouldn't be the thriving school we have become.
Enjoy the school year and make the most of every minute. It'll be gone in the blink of an eye!

Morning kindergarten from 9-10, afternoon kindergarten from 1-2.

      roomparent
Room Parent Sign-Up Now Available!
Being a room parent is a GREAT way to be involved in your child's classroom with minimal commitment of in-class volunteer time. Much of the planning and coordination can happen on your own time as your schedule permits. A room parent's responsibilities include planning the fall festival party (held on the afternoon of Oct. 30th), coordinating optional teacher gifts before winter break and at year-end, and assisting the PTO with teacher appreciation week in the spring.

More details on each of these activities will be shared with the selected room parents at the room parent orientation meeting in September. There will be two room parents for each classroom so you can share in the fun (and the responsibility) with another parent in your class!  If you're interested in being a room parent for this year, please click here and sign up prior to September 1st.

If you have any additional questions, please reach out to Stephanie Wilcox.
       boyscouts
Thank You To Our Boy Scout Pack and Their Families
Join Night September 8!

Every year before school starts Lenski Pack 664 participates in their community service project which benefits their Chartered Organization, Lois Lenski Elementary School. The Scouts & their families provide the tools and manpower to clean up the school grounds.

On Saturday, August 15th, there was a full contingent of boys, girls, dads, moms and grandparents equipped with brooms, shovels, clippers, spades and blowers to help get the grounds in shape for the school year.  We would like to thank them all for their time and effort.

Now is a good time to join Boy Scouts if you aren't already a member.  Pack 664 has a great program planned for this year.  Please check out their  wiki page, or come to Join Night on Tuesday, September 8th, 7:00 p.m. at Lenski.
