Open House for 2015/16 School Year is Tomorrow!
|
Tomorrow, August 13, please plan on visiting Lois Lenski from 3:00 - 4:00 PM for our Open House for students in grades 1-5 and 2:00-3:00 PM for Kindergarten students. At this time, your child is welcome to visit his/her classroom, meet the teacher and tour the school. The PTO pre-packaged school supplies can also be picked up from your child's classroom.
Parents have been notified by email of their child's teacher assignment!

Lenski Annual Giving Campaign Kick-Off
|
A new school year is about to begin and with it brings the opportunity for us all to contribute to an amazing school year. One of our first chances is the annual PTO fundraiser, Lenski Annual Giving. We hope you will join us in making a donation to invest in our children's future. The suggested donation for each student is $175- $200 to help us sustain the excellence that Lenski provides. Remember we also accept monthly donations at a suggested rate of $22.00 per month (over 9 months). Our goal this year is $75,000 by October 1st! Remember that 100% of your donation goes directly back to Lenski's specialist teachers' salaries to support small group learning and corporate match is available so speak to your employer today and ask about their available programs. For more information, flyers will be coming home with your student in their Back to School paperwork and you can click here to view the flyer.

Kleenex and Coffee/Lemonade for Kindergarten Parents, Grandparents and Guardians

 Kindergarten parents, grandparents and guardians of all kinds! We know the first day of school is full of emotions- nerves, excitement and possibly some tears (and that's just from the parents!). In a effort to make your day a little easier, please join us for Kleenex and Coffee and Kleenex and Lemonade on the grass near the main entrance on Friday, August 21st. Lenski New Fee Payment Process Available Now!
Fees Due by October 1, 2015

This year at Lenski we will begin a new process to pay for classroom fees and field trips. Available now, you have the option to pay student fees online using a credit card through the parent portal, or you can send in payment to the Lenski Office.

Many of you have brand-spankin'-new Reloadable Grocery Cards to try out! We welcome the new families and Kindergarten families to Lenski with a gift: a fresh King Soopers card, pre-loaded with $2.50. We invite you to take a minute, sip a coffee (on us!), and learn about this automatic 5% cash back fundraiser. As you know, it costs you nothing!

Streets of Southglenn - Start Saving Those Receipts!

Do you ever visit Streets of SouthGlenn? Then help Lenski earn money by saving your receipts and earning Lenski points that turn into money for our school! To learn more about the Streets at SouthGlenn program, click here.
Simply shop and log your Streets of SouthGlenn receipts!
Beginning Friday, August 15th, keep your original receipts from all stores and restaurants and turn them in to help Lenski earn money! Receipts must be dated between August 15, 2014 and April 30, 2015. Turn your receipts in to the box on the table in the front lobby at school or in the Lenski slot near guest services at SouthGlenn. Every dollar earns 5 points, so turn in even the smallest dollar receipt to help out.
For the 2013-2014 school year, Lenski earned $750! This money was used to purchase gift cards that will be raffled off at different fundraisers to earn even more money for our kids! Thanks to all that shopped and turned in receipts! Next year we want to double the winnings to $1,500, you can help!

80's Themed Prom Party - Fundraiser for Lenski! Tickets Still Available!
August 29, 6pm at Heritage Village Upper Pool

 Come support Lenski in this totally tubular way! It's an 80's themed prom party, Saturday, August 29 at 6:00 pm at the Heritage Village Upper Pool. All ticket purchases are a donation to Lois Lenski.
Dress to impress in your best 80's duds! $35 per person. Food, Beverage and Live Music provided.

Completing this information is required by all primary household parents/guardians prior to September 8, 2015. Save the Date - New "Fab Friday" Movie Event - Drawing Donations Welcome!!

 All new fun-filled family evening! Bring a blanket to sit on the Lenski field to watch a feature film under the stars with your family and school friends. Make new friends and catch-up with friends you haven't seen over the summer. Enjoy drawings, cakewalk, trinkets, games & dinner before the film and concessions during the film. This is a family event and kids must be accompanied by an adult.
Do you or someone you know own a terrific business? Do you have a special talent? Do you have theater or sports tickets that your family won't be able to use? If so, please consider donating your service, a product, your talent or other valuable item to the Lois Lenski PTO!! We are collecting product, service and cash donations that will be organized into exciting drawing packages that will raise funds for the Lenski PTO during the Fab Family Film night on Friday, September 18th or during the Family Bingo Night on Friday, February 19th. Please contact Sheryle Gaston to donate fun, exciting items or services by Friday, August 21st.

Summer Reading, Writing and Math Incentives
Turn it in by August 27th!
|
Students whose parents sign off on reading and writing logs, practice math through Dreambox, IXL (current students have their IXL log in information), participate in a library program, or complete the Summer Bridge Activity booklet, will be awarded a trip to the treasure box when they present their summer work to the classroom teacher by August 27th.
