Meet Sheryle Gaston, Bingo Night Chair

We are the Gaston family and moved to Colorado in the Summer of 2013 and feel so blessed to have found the Lois Lenski community.  We moved from rural New Jersey for Patrick's position with Western Union and I transitioned from an HR Director at Merck to enjoying staying home with our boys to help them transition to their new community.

Daniel is in 5th grade and loves basketball, baseball, Taekwondo, reading, telling jokes, and playing the guitar.  Even more than all that, he enjoys having fun playtime with his friends.   Christopher is in 3rd grade and loves Pokemon, baseball, fencing, Taekwondo and math/brain teasing games on the computer.  He really likes to figure-out how anything works.  As a family, we enjoy quiet time together, activities at Greenwood Village, and exploring all that Colorado has to offer.

Since I also enjoy being busy just like my family, I immediate became involved with the Lenski PTO and Littleton Public Schools.  Last year, I was the Room Parent for both of the boys' classrooms, volunteered in Christopher's classroom, and became a Parent-At-Large for the LPS District Accountability Committee, which included some lobbying at the Capitol to persuade our legislatures to increase funding for public education.  I also volunteer for the United Way and read to 3rd graders in Denver Public Schools.

This year, I had the privilege of organizing the Annual Lenski Bingo Night and am working with the Art Teachers to organize some terrific kids' art work for the Spring Dinner Dance, and continuing to volunteer 'ad-hoc' whenever needed.  I'm continuing with LPS District Accountability Committed and United Way.

We feel very welcome in the Lenski community as a new family and encourage everyone to get involved as your schedule permits.  It is a great way to meet friends, learn or sustain professional skills, and build community.

Bingo Night : Congratulations and Thank You!
bingo night

Thank you to all the Lenski parents, teachers and staff for supporting our school on Bingo night last Friday.  We had a great time and, in the process, raised over $8,000 to supplement teacher staffing!!  What a great way to have fun and support our schools.

We would also like to congratulate the bingo and drawing winners:  Katie Smith, Emma Weisshaupl, Ellie Thorpy, Ainsley DeBerard, Tammy Farrelly, Tilley Garvin, The Rodriguez Family, Jayden Happold, The Flynn Family, The Dail Family, Koda Ellison, Maddie Malcolm, Jovan Land (x2!), The Stone Family!

A special thank you to all the parents, staff and teachers who volunteered their time and/or donated items for the drawings or concessions.  We could not have done it without you!

We also tried some new activities during the evening that were very successful.  First, the Meyers' family donated 2 tickets to the CU game for the following day.  We took that opportunity to enjoy some friendly competition and conducted a 'lively' auction for the tickets.  Congratulations to the Gaston Family for winning the auction and thank you to the Meyers family for their donation!  Second, we used the gym as an overflow room to have a more 'family-game-night' feeling for those families that wanted a more relaxed atmosphere.

We are continuing to find ways to improve all of our Lenski family activities.  If you have any suggestions for Bingo Night, please contact Sheryle Gaston at [email protected]  See you next year!

Lenski Takes Home the Trophy at the Stride!

Congratulations Lenski!!! YOU DID IT!!! Thank you to all of you who supported the Littleton Stride this year! It was a beautiful fall day, and so much fun to see Lenski families gathering to run in support of our school and our community. We had over 300 participants from Lenski this year, awarding us the "highest overall school participation award". We are the proud recipients of that glorious trophy once again! In addition, our "Yellow" team which consisted of Lenski, Field Elementary and Littleton Prep won the school participation team award. We will be given a $1000.00 grant that can be used towards health and wellness right here at Lenski!

The Littleton Stride raised over $50,000 last year that helped in supporting district-wide programs, health and wellness initiatives, and teacher classroom grants. It is a wonderful organization that directly benefits our children! Way to go Lenski!! This is quite an accomplishment and something that we should all be very proud of!
