School Spirit Tastes Great
Make dinner a selfless act by joining us for a Fundraiser to support Lenski Elementary. Come into the 7515 S. University Boulevard Chipotle on TONIGHT from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Bring in a flyer, show it on your smartphone or tell the cashier you're supporting the cause to make sure that 50% of the proceeds will be donated to Lenski Elementary.
To avoid lines, come early or order online and come pick up your order. Just be sure to mention Lenski!!

Bingo Family Night This Friday!

This is a terrific, fun family activity and there are great drawing prizes to win. You won't want to miss it!
The success of the evening is completely due to the terrific teacher and parent volunteers. Please check out the SignUp Genius to donate your time and/or donate concession items for the evening. We added a lot of donation requests for the concessions since last week and we need parents to donate the concession items. We will need the donations delivered to the school by Wednesday, October 22nd.

Fall Luncheon for Teachers and Staff Tomorrow

The PTO will host a fall lunch for Teachers and Staff Tomorrow, October 23, in the teachers lounge from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.. Lunch will be catered by Jason's Deli. Stop by and pick up your lunch or relax in the lounge. We are looking forward to treating everyone who makes Lenski awesome!

To Do List for Friday:
3:45pm- Pick up kids from school/ kids ride bus home from school
4:00pm- feed kids a healthy snack
4:30pm- Take kids up to Streets at SouthGlenn for Spooky Streets and make sure to sign in at the Concierge Desk to earn 1,000 points per person! Sign in for the whole family!
5:30pm- head over to Lenski for Bingo night
 Thank you for taking the time to go over to Streets at SouthGlenn and sign in. By getting as many people as we can to sign in at this event we will increase our changes in earning Lenski $2,500 that we can use to help our school earn even more money for PTO needs. Signing in will take just a few moments of your time and 1,000 points per person is an easy and inexpensive way to help the school! Plus the kids will have fun for an hour! Thanks.

Meet Kim Madden, Lenski Stride Captain

Hi there! My name is Kim Madden, and I am the 2014 Lenski Stride Captain. My husband and our two children, Molly (4th grade) and Max (2nd grade) joined the Lenski community two years ago. From the moment we visited Lenski, we have been overwhelmed with the welcoming, friendly atmosphere that makes Lenski Elementary so unique! We feel very fortunate to be part of an incredible community full of teachers and families that place such a strong emphasis on producing respectful and responsible learners!
Upon becoming a Lenski parent, I quickly felt the desire to get involved in one of the many great volunteer opportunities that our school offers. I love to run, and I love the idea of supporting kids in their health and wellness. I took on the role of Stride Captain last year, and I am heading it up again this year! Our Lenski kids LOVE the Stride, and their enthusiasm is awesome! Last year, Lenski Elementary showed up with an amazing 387 runners! They are so proud of that huge trophy and all that it stands for. In addition, Lenski won a $1000.00 grant to be used towards health and wellness and helped raise 50,000.00 for the Littleton Public Schools! What an accomplishment!
In addition to working on the Stride, I work three days a week as a Physician Assistant in Orthopedic Surgery. My husband, Rob is a Sergeant with the Colorado State Patrol. We both enjoy getting into the classrooms to volunteer whenever we can! We have seen many new faces this year at Lenski, and we hope to meet you all very soon! Hope to see you at the Stride!!

Littleton Stride This Sunday!

The Littleton Stride is 3 days away, and there is still time to register! You can register online at runthestride.com through noon on Friday, October 24th. Race day registration is available, but will NOT count towards our participation numbers.
**Only 5K and 10K participants will count towards our participation prize, and only these registrants receive t-shirts. (youth medium is cotton, all other sizes are performance material)
**If you registered online prior to Tuesday, October 21st, you may pick up your packets at Littleton Hospital on Friday, October 24th from 7AM-7PM.
**If you registered after Tuesday, or if you choose, you may pick up your packet on race day!
It's going to be a beautiful day for a run with your family, so please sign up NOW!! The post-race expo is going to include many exciting activities and yummy food including pancakes by Flippin' Flapjacks, fruit from Whole Foods and bagels from Panera! Look for the Lenski tent after the race!
***Our Lenski families and community have been very generous in giving to the Stride Scholarship fund. If your student would like to run in the Stride, but finances have prohibited you from signing up, please contact me at kimfmadden17@gmail.com for scholarship details.

Food Drive - Please Consider Donating

 October is here, and it is time for Lenski's annual Fall Food Drive! Again this year, we will be contributing to the needs of students within our LPS community. Please consider donating nutritious, easy to prepare, non-perishable foods with kid appeal. For a list of suggested items, please click here. Please do not send glass and/or expired food. If possible, smaller cans are appreciated. There will be donation boxes in every classroom throughout the month of October.

Veterans Day Celebration
November 11, 9:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m.

 There will be an assembly at 9:30 and 10:15 AM on Wednesday, November 11, 2014 to honor veterans. If you know of a veteran who would like to attend, please invite them. Send a note or e-mail to jvogel@lps.k12.co.us and let her know who will be coming.
The Veteran's Day assembly will include the posting of the flag by Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Brownies, patriotic music, and recognition of all veterans in attendance.

Shred-A-Thon Fundraiser for Arapahoe High School Library
Saturday, October 25, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Shred what you don't want read! This Saturday, come to Arapahoe High School with your check stubs, credit card offers, receipts, outdated tax documents, etc. Come to the East Side of the school: 2201 E. Dry Creek Rd., Centennial, Colorado. $8 per copy paper sized box or 3 boxes for $20. Bring a can of food and get $1 off shredding.

| Lenski offers many choices for students to participate in before and after school enrichment classes and clubs. They include performing arts, foreign language, Mad Science, art and many more. Please visit the website for more information on the next session of enrichment programs. |
