Make a Difference and Chip in for Technology Golf Tournament
April 28, 2014
|
The 3rd Annual Lenski Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014. 100% of proceeds benefit the Lenski Technology Fund.
- Did you know that Lenski has a 1:1 technology ratio for 3rd-5th grade? These are actual computers in the classroom for every student in 3rd-5th grade to use in all aspects of instruction! This is a great achievement but it needs constant support. Help us maintain that commitment and expand our technology goal. We would like to purchase 60 new chromebooks achieving a 2:1 ratio at the 2nd grade level starting this fall!
- Join us for a fun day on the course and support a great cause! Click here to register.
Questions? Please contact Suzette Loving at suzetteloving@gmail.com.

5th Grade Community Service Projects Through the 1st week of May
|
We have two terrific community service opportunities in which you may choose to participate before our fifth graders continue on to middle school. The first is a playground equipment drive, "Leave it to Lenski," and the second is an athletic shoe recycling program, "Re-Use A Shoe," which turns your old, worn-out athletic shoes into places to play (sport surfaces)! Click here for a brief description of each program.
Questions??? Contact Lisa Myers (fairfax4@comcast.net) or Kim Tilghman (kstilghman@comcast.net).

Library Volunteer Opportunities for 2014-15
|
Are you interested in volunteering in Lenski's media center? These volunteers help check out and check in materials, shelve book and assist the library staff with special projects. Lenski's dedicated library volunteers allow our great staff to spend more time working with the students. Shifts are either from 9am to 12pm or from 1pm - 3:30pm, and most shifts would be twice a month. We will be putting our fall schedule together starting in August. We do try and schedule volunteers when their child's class is in the library. If you are interested, please contact Lisanna Parkhurst at lisannafp@gmail.com or 303-395-0273.

Newton Welcomes Incoming 6th Graders
|
Welcome 2014-2015 incoming 6th grade parents! I'd like to give you an enthusiastic, early welcome to Newton Middle School PTO. Newton PTO meets the first Thursday of each month from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at Newton. Some volunteer opportunities to consider for next school year include the annual Book Fair, the Teacher Grant Review Committee, the Fall Dance, Art Department support, the Hospitality committee, and library support. Our Brighter Future Pledge Drive is our only fundraiser. This year, proceeds from the pledge drive were used to purchase choral risers for the Performing Arts Department. The PTO also supports the Reading Counts program, guest speakers, and the annual Run with the Knights event, along with teacher grants for classroom enrichment items. PTO at Newton is not a huge time commitment, and it's a great way to stay informed about events at school. Look for a mailing to arrive in August with more information. We look forward to seeing you!
Questions? Please contact Leticia Higdon at LeticiaHigdon@comcast.net , Julie Madden at carmadden@msn.com or Lisanna Parkhurst at lisannafp@gmail.com.
