'Chip In' for Technology

Save the date for the 2nd Annual Lenski Technology Fund Golf Tournament, on Monday, May 6.  The tournament will be held at the Meridian Golf Course.  Refer to the flyer for a registration form and further details on this tournament.

Buddy Breakfast - Here Comes Summer!
May 3, 2013 from 7:00-8:45 a.m.

Thanks to everyone who responded for our Buddy Breakfast. We look forward to seeing the kids and their buddies on Friday morning. The RSVP deadline was last week, but if we missed anyone - please call or email right away!

Pancakes & sun   

After breakfast head to the gymnasium for a photo with your buddy. Feel free to wear your Hawaiian shirt, sunglasses and beach hat!  If your child's buddy needs to leave before school starts, please do not leave them unattended.  Starting at 7:15, we will have adult supervision in the library (with a movie!) and on the playground.

Spring is here and warmer weather is right around the corner! Please plan to join your child for Lunch on the Lawn during the weeks of April 29-May 3 and May 6-10 during their regularly scheduled lunch tiime. 
  
Monday: 1st grade                         
Tuesday: 2nd grade
Wednesday: 3rd grade
Thursday: 4th grade
Friday: 5th grade
  
Of course, this would not be possible without our volunteers!  Please take a moment and check out this link to see if there is a time that you can volunteer to make this possible for our students.  For the second week of May 6, there are currently 2 spots available.  Thanks!!

Are you passionate about technology and education?  If so, please consider joining the Technology Advisory Board and learn more about how technology is used in your child's classroom.  Contribute to the mission of providing our children with the best resources and training for the best education.  Connect with district leaders such as LPS CIO, Dan Maas, who is close and engaged with the Lenski community.  For more information, please click here.

Field Day - Volunteers Needed!
  

Field Day

We need your help to make Field Days a success!  The dates for Field Days are fast approaching - Monday, May 13th (3rd-5th graders) and Wednesday, May 15th (1st-2nd graders).  Can you believe it?  That's less than two weeks away.  There are many volunteer positions still available.  All volunteer slots are 1-1/2 hour increments during the field days.  There are also opportunities to help with set-up before the field day events.

 

Please sign up now to volunteer...we cannot do it without your help!

 

3rd-5th Grade signup:  Monday Field Day

1st & 2nd Grade signup:  Wednesday Field Day  

  

Thanks for making this a fun day for our kids!

 

Kindergarten Fun Day is scheduled separately for Friday, May 17th.  Both the morning and afternoon Kindergarten classes will attend in the morning.

The Reloadable Grocery Card team will be on-hand at Friday's Buddy Breakfast.  Bring cash or a check and you can buy an additional card for your buddy, spouse, neighbor, friend or loved one to use all summer long.  Can't wait? Use backpack mail!  The order form can be downloaded from Quick Links on the left-hand side of this newsletter.

A Note from the Lenski Library
  

The end of the school year is rapidly approaching, and the Lenski Library staff is requesting that all Lenski library books be returned by May 6th. Thank you for your help in locating any missing books.

 

The Koelbel Library has a wonderful selection of just-right books for your child and is offering a summer reading program, Dig into Reading.  Find out more at www.arapahoelibraries.org.  Have a great summer and enjoy a good book!

The competition is over!  We will know what place we finished in a few weeks. ThStreetsmartsanks to everyone who turned in receipts for the Streets of SouthGlenn stores.

15,719 tops were collected.  That is awesome!  With each box top

worth 10 cents, Lois Lenski raised $1,571.90.  Thanks!

 

There will be a contest this summer, so watch for the notice later in May.  Keep up the good work collecting those box tops!

Summer Camps and Classes
Arapahoe High School's Science Camp this summer will be held on July 22-24.  The themes will be Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and will be taught by AHS teachers.  To find out more or to register, click on the flyer or registration form.
