After you have reserved a room for your event, completed a risk management form (if needed), talked with the Lane University Center Box Office regarding ticketing, applied for event funding from Student Government Association and gathered digital imagery that represents your event, you are ready to market that event.
We suggest you begin to advertise your event 2 weeks before the event. This means preparing your posters, graphics and posts at least a month before your event.
Here are just a few ways to advertise on campus:
Lane University Center Digital Signage - The Lane University Center Digital Signage System consists of 4 monitors placed in the Lane University Center lobbies near main entrances which offer student organizations, FSU offices and departments and local businesses a new and exciting way to get the word out about events, opportunities and meetings. Submit a 1100 pixel wide x 840 pixel tall jpeg following these specifications.
SpotlightOnline - Student and Community Involvement's weekly newsletter to Frostburg State's students, faculty and staff highlighting events and opportunities, submit events two weeks prior to event by tagging event type 'SpotlightOnline' when submitting to events.frostburg.edu
Statelines - an FSU publication for and about FSU people. Published by FSU Division of Communications and Media Relations on Mondays, submit your events to statelines@frostburg.edu the Wednesday prior to publication date.
Posters - Design your own poster or solicit a graphic design student for help. Posters may be hung throughout campus on bulletin boards in academic buildings, the Lewis J. Ort Library, the Lane University Center (4), Residence Halls and Edgewood Commons.
For more information, contact Social Marketing Team advisor Missy Martz at 301.687.7597. |
