This week CES Concerts welcomes Daughtry and Honor By August for one of the most highly anticipated events of the semester, if you haven't purchased your tickets already, purchase yours today at the Lane University Center Box Office.
Leading up to that, UPC Feature Films will be showing Minions on Friday. So, take a load off after classes and enjoy!
Also, get your sneakers ready and enter the 3 on 3 basketball tournament. Last day to sign up is Tuesday, Oct.6th.

Team Cost to Enter Tournament: $25
The Frostburg Women's Basketball team will be hosting a 3 on 3 basketball tournament on October 7, 2015 from 6-10:30 PM in the Cordts PE Center Main Arena. The cost of the tournament is $25 per team with a maximum of four people per roster. The tournament includes free t-shirts for participation and the champions will win a prize. Sign up at a table in Lane University Center on September 24, 28, & 29th from 10 AM-2 PM or contact Coach Hall at snhall@frostburg.edu. The last day to sign up is October 6th by 3 PM.

The Maryland Symphony Orchestra presents a Masterworks concert featuring Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's "Violin Concerto in D Major, Opus 35" and Jean Sibelius' "Symphony No. 2 in D Major, Opus 43." Led by magnetic musical director Elizabeth Schulze, this first-class orchestra offers a passionate performance of exquisite artistry.
Spanish violinist Francisco Fullano joins MSO for the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto. Fullana has appeared internationally as a soloist with orchestras throughout Spain, the U.S., Germany, Switzerland, Venezuela, Israel, Argentina, Italy and Portugal. Among his prestigious awards are the top honors in the International Johannes Brahms Violin Competition in Austria, the Pablo de Sarasate International Violin Competition in Spain and the Julio Cardona International Violin Competition. Fullana is the recipient of a 1679 Pietro Guarneri violin, generously on loan from the Stradivari Society of Chicago.
Tickets are available at the Lane University Center Box Office Monday-Friday 9 AM - 4 PM.
Adults $35 * Under 17 $29.75. Corporate and group discount rates are also available.

Sigma Tau Delta Banned Books Reading

Commemorating the books and their authors who have pushed boundaries for freedom of speech and press, Frostburg State University will have an evening dedicated to reading books deemed too controversial and therefore banned or challenged. The English Honors Society Sigma Tau Delta, the Department of English and the Ort Library at FSU will host the event Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m. on the third floor of the Ort Library.
