The University Programming Council is featuring Kelly and Becca in their hot new program called Sexversations. Friends since college, Kelly and Becca became closer after a traumatic event changed their lives forever. They wish to educate students about sexual assault awareness and prevention. They believe that the only way to do this is to talk about "IT." They use a 3-step model to teach participants how they can help reduce sexual violence.

Applications are available for the 2014 Sloop Institute for Excellence in Leadership! Many alumni will attend and present over the course of the weekend. Students will have a chance to learn and be inspired by some of Frostburg's finest. Students will have the opportunity to network with other Frostburg State University organizations, as well as learn about the new leadership competency model, how it applies to them, and how they can bring new leadership skills back their organizations within the University.

Have an amazing semester!

Kelly and Becca wish to educate students about sexual assault awareness/prevention.
They believe that the only way to do this is to talk about "IT." They use a 3-step model to teach participants how they can help reduce sexual violence. Kelly and Becca use humor to keep this controversial subject lighthearted. They came up with the idea to form this program after Kelly was sexually assaulted, which resulted in a
pregnancy. Individuals who partake in the session will be challenged to take responsibility for their actions while under the influence and learn how to communicate sexual boundaries. For more information, contact Robert CooperDirector of Greek Life and Student Activities at 301.687.4049.

Cultural Events Series
Singing in the Gaelic language of her ancestors, charismatic Scottish folksinger is a standard-bearer for the music and culture of her homeland. Named by the Scottish Parliament as its first-ever Gaelic ambassador, Fowlis shares the music of centuries past in Music of the Scottish Isles. It is little wonder that when Disney's PIXAR sought an authentic voice to feature in its 2012 animated film, Brave, set in 10th-century Scotland, they recruited Fowlis, who sings two of the film's stirring songs, "Touch the Sky"
and "Into the
Open Air.Critics and audiences have been enamored since Fowlis first emerged on the scene. London Evening Standard raved, "There are some voices that carry much more than a melody. They  transport you to another place, give you goose flesh and make magic out of thin air. Julie Fowlis has just such a voice." BBC Radio described her music as being like "beautiful messages from another world." Fowlis, who sings as well as plays the pipes, is supported by a gifted ensemble of musicians, including husband Eamon Doorley on bouzouki, Duncan Chisholm on fiddle and Tony Byrne on guitar. This impressive lineup has become known for their expressive and high-energy live show.
