National Hazing Prevention Week
September 23 ~ 27
Hazing is an action that causes embarrassment, ridicule or humiliation. Hazing can start as early as elementary school and it is not singular to any group. If we choose to accept hazing it will continue to affect the lives of many individuals or groups. We need the bring the offensive actions of hazing to a stop. This movement begins with you; if you see hazing do not look the other way. Educate members of your organization and report acts of hazing when you see them. Hazing is a crime that can lead to criminal prosecution in 44 states.

Tuesday, September 24 7:00pm * 11:00pm
Lane University Center, Alice R. Manicur Assembly Hall
The University Programming Council is sponsoring the event "I Can't Believe You Asked That." This event is designed to give students the opportunity to get answers to questions they have always wanted to ask but don't. Our host, Phillip J. Milano is a 21-year newspaper veteran who grew tired of his industry's inability to document real cross-cultural dialogue for fear of offending readers. A straight, married white guy who grew up in the affluent, lily-white Chicago suburb of Glen Ellyn, he yearned for a way to get people talking across their differences - differences he himself was sheltered from as a youth.

Nothing But Nets Campaign
United Campus Ministry would like to remind all student organizations about the of the FSU Nothing But Nets Campaign that will end October 31. Make sure your organization gets your nets now! Last year FSU student organizations bought 170 nets ($10 per net) which saved 680 lives for 3 years. We would like to double that this year - your group can make a significant difference. Every group that participates will get their name listed with how many nets they were able to buy this year in The Bottom Line in November.
United Campus Ministry is coordinating the campaign and they will donate the money on Frostburg State University's behalf. For more information contact Cindy Zirlott.
