Hailed by educators and math specialists across the country, MatheMagic!® features comedy, theatre and world-class magic. The exceptional magician and educator Bradley Fields uses magic and illusions to excite students about the hist ory, the power and the beauty of the language of math! Amid the oohs, aahs and laughter, students practice math skills, explore ancient civilizations and meet the first magicians, whose secret was really math. By integrating math concepts with vocabulary, geography, history and everyday problem solving, students relate to math in new ways. They'll leave the theatre enthralled, with a renewed sense of wonder, and the enthusiasm to discover the magic of math!
Note: A limited number of public tickets are available for the 4:30 p.m. performance on April 15.
Cost: $12 adult,$7 under 17, $5 student

365 Love: Principles for Making Love Last Brown Bag Lunch
Thursday, April 18 from 12:00-1:00 PMLane University Center Room 108 365 Love: Principles for Making Love Last is a 5-week seminar on marriage enrichment or preparation. This is open to all FSU students, faculty and staff; couples (married or preparing for marriage) or singles. Rev. Dr. Cindy Zirlott, who practiced as a marriage and family counselor for 12 years before coming to campus as the chaplain, will facilitate.Engaged couples who participate will receive a "Pre-Martial Counseling" certificate upon completion.

Luciana Souza and Romero Lubambo: Brazilian Duo

The Cultural Events Series at Frostburg State University will present a LIVE! at StarScape club-style performance, Luciana Souza and Romero Lubambo: Brazilian Duo, on Saturday, April 20, at 8 p.m. in the Alice R. Manicur Assembly Hall in FSU's Lane University Center. Audience members will have the opportunity to interact with the artists in a question-and-answer session immediately following the performance.

Hailing from Sao Paolo, Brazil, Grammy-winning jazz vocalist Souza is one of the leading singers and interpreters in the Latin jazz genre. Entertainment Weekly says "her voice traces a landscape of emotion that knows no boundaries." A fellow Brazilian, skilled guitarist Lubambo was praised by Jazziz magazine as perhaps being "the best practitioner of his craft in the world today." Together, they create an outstanding musical experience for their audience, and The Los Angeles Times praised their show for its "inspired excellence [and] utter musical involvement ... a must-hear musical destination."

(Formerly the Day of Caring and Sharing)
Event: Saturday, May 4
Registration Deadline: April 19
8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Meet at St. Michaels Church
Volunteer to help Beautify the 'Burg by partnering with community members to help paint light posts, sweep sidewalks, plant flowers and complete other projects in the area. All participants in this event will be provided with lunch at 12 p.m. at City Place where there will be live music, special guest speakers and much more.
To register yourself or your group for this event, please contact Jamie Williams, A STAR! AmeriCorps Academic Enrichment and Volunteer Coordinator in the Office of Volunteerism & National Service or 301.687.7598. T-shirts are limited and on a first come, first served basis.
