Hello Bobcats! We hope you had a fun and relaxing Spring Break, but now it's time to knock out of the rest of this semester. There are plenty of fantastic events going on this week, so come out and see what Frostburg has to offer. You will not be disappointed! 
 
Tuesday, help improve your campus community by lending your voice to the Sustaining Campus and Community Dialogue Series
 
You do not want to miss Delta Zeta's Womanless Beauty Pageant. This charity event benefits Relay for Life of Frostburg State University as well as a local women's shelter so remember to bring some cash.
 
On Wednesday, Black Student Alliance is seeking nominations for their Executive Board - be prepared to present your platform. 
 
Also on Wednesday, student organizations are highly encouraged to send representative to Joe Urbanski's Pave the Way to Smoother Leadership Transition. Then on 
 
Thursday, attend FSU's Student Government Association to find out the issues on campus.
 
Finally, take the time to register yourself or group for Beautify the 'Burg! Also, get ready for CES Concerts and Late@Lane's Music Fest coming on April 6!

Sustaining Campus and Community Dialogue Series

The dialogue sessions assemble students, year-round residents, local officials and University leaders to discuss a variety of issues and create new opportunities for collaborative problem-solving and coalition-building in Frostburg. In the February session, the progress of five action groups that have emerged in the dialogue series was reported. The groups focus on managing conflict/preventing violence, improving race relations, managing off-campus housing tensions and discovering Western Maryland/Frostburg and FSU pride.The March session will feature guest speakers from the Frostburg faith community, Pastor Everett Spence from God's Ark of Safety; the Rev. Tim Smith, senior pastor of the Frostburg Church of the Nazarene; and Ken Fisher, president of Neighborhood Friends Care, an ecumenical network of care based at the Frostburg Presbyterian Church. Come out and let your voice be heard!

Womanless Beauty Pageant Contestants

Womanless Beauty Pageant
Tuesday, March 26 at 7:00 PM 
Lane University Center Manicur Assembly Hall
  

This beauty pageant raises awareness for violence against women as well as money for Frostburg State University's Relay for Life. Contestants will participate  in interview, swimwear and talent rounds. They will be doing all of these rounds as a "woman." We always have an amazing time at this event and we know that you will too. Since this is a charity event, please remember to bring some cash with you to donate and vote throughout the event. Do you want to be on the Black Student Alliance Executive Board? Candidates must possess leadership skills, be involved on campus, possess public speaking skills, and be organized. They must also have a
2.5 GPA. Candidates should prepare a speech promoting their ideas and platform for tonight's general body meeting and see if they truly have what it takes to be nominated.

for Beautify the 'Burg  Day of Caring & Sharing

Event: Saturday, May 4
Registration Deadline: April 29
8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Meet at St. Michaels Church
 
Volunteer to help Beautify the 'Burg by partnering with community members to help paint light posts, sweep sidewalks, plant flowers and complete other projects in the area. All participants in this event will be provided with lunch at 12 p.m. at City Place where there will be live music, special guest speakers and much more.   
 
To register yourself or your group for this event, please contact Jamie WilliamsA STAR! AmeriCorps Academic Enrichment and Volunteer Coordinator in the Office of Volunteerism & National Service or 301.687.7598. T-shirts are limited and on a first come, first served basis. All registration forms must be submitted by 12 p.m. on Friday, April 19. We hope to see you there!
