What is Your Temperature?

null

In many parts of the country fall is in air. The cooler days and the mild nights serve as a welcome temperature respite from the burning days of summer.

Jesus is concerned about the temperature of our faith. In Revelation 3:15-16 He councils us about having a faith that is "lukewarm" saying, "I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!"

Being lukewarm to God is to be spiritually indifferent, to His goodness, His blessings, and His comfort.

Being lukewarm is so disturbing to God that He wants no part of us (or it): "But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!" Revelation 3:16

Being lukewarm is a dangerous place for us. Because when we are lukewarm we may look to the world like "hot" Christians but in reality we are merely picking and choosing which of God's commandments to follow, often fooling ourselves that we are in right relationship with God. However, in reality we have no relationship with God because we have been "spat out of His mouth."

So as the leaves fall, the days get shorter and the nights cooler. The simple question is this: "If God takes your temperature, what will it be?"
