     Meet Rebecca Kling
Hello to the Pride Films and Plays community!

I'm Rebecca Kling, a board member at PFP, as well as a touring performer and educator. For the past few years, I have traveled the country, visiting colleges, universities, and theatre festivals, where I conduct workshops and perform solo material about my trans identity and the larger trans community.

It is incredibly rewarding work, and I feel fortunate to be able to share my story - and information about trans identity - with such a wide audience. Likewise, while in Chicago, I feel privileged to work with PFP in our efforts to increase LGBT visibility on stage and on screen.

In my personal life, however, I have an entirely different big event coming up: On December 10, 2013, I will be traveling to New Hope, PA to undergo gender reassignment surgery. It's scary and exciting, and the big day will be here in less than a month.

The surgery costs almost twenty thousand dollars, and I'm requesting financial support from friends, family, and my larger artistic and social communities. More specifically, I'm using a Kickstarter-model fundraiser, where pledging will allow donors to receive a variety of silly gifts as a thank-you.

Please go here for more information about the fundraiser, to donate, and to help spread the word.

Thank you so much for your support, and I look forward to seeing you at PFP's awesome upcoming 2014 events, once I'm back on my feet.

Thank you!

Rebecca Kling

Rebecca Kling was one of the first people to step forward as we got PFP off the ground.

Her performances are exciting. Her writing is top-notch. And her story is profound.

Thank you for taking time to read her introduction, and you can learn more about Rebecca here.

If you can, please help her on this journey.

Sincerely,
