Women's Work Timeline
PFP seeks funding for a full season of lesbian work.

Pride Films and Plays has unveiled a new Indiegogo campaign seeking funding to expand Women's Work - the program for new plays and screenplays written by women that have lesbian characters or themes - to continue

throughout the season.

The season will kick off with the 3rd annual Women's Work Weekend at Center on Halsted's Hoover-Leppen Theatre September 13 to 15. During the weekend, six new plays and screenplays will be performed as 'enhanced staged readings.' Information on the authors and their works, along with a complete performance schedule can be found here.

On Wednesday, October 16, PFP will present A Play Date With Dyke Drama, an evening of new lesbian shorts by Chicago playwright Allison Fradkin. This event is at 7:30 at Stage 773, 1225 West Belmont, and is pay-what-you-can at the door. Scripts included in the evening are The Bloom Is Off the Heteros, Royally Screwballed, I Love Lezzie, Lady Parts, and Lesbo and Cupid's Arrow. David Zak directs a company featuring PFP ensemble members and guest artists.

Women's Work will continue in January, with a new look at Lillian Hellman's drama of love and lies, The Children's Hour. Derek Bertelsen will direct, and dates and location will be announced.

PFP will produce its first full world premiere production in the Women's Work Series in 2014.
