It has been a great year for
Pride Films and Plays...
Jeff Award Win
...and we ask for your support as we
end our fiscal year!

Dear Friends -

It has been quite a year for Pride Films and Plays! Our passion for new ways to tell important, universal stories has made us a leading creator of new LGBTQ plays and musicals. The two previous winners of our Great Gay Play Contest - At The Flash by Sean Chandler and David Leeper, and Learn to be Latina by Enrique Ureata - continue to get excellent reviews in theaters across the country.
And Leo Schwartz's musical Under A Rainbow Flag proved to be a hit with both audiences and critics, garnering Jeff Awards nominations for Direction-Musical or Revue and Actor in a Supporting Role-Musical, and Jeff Awards wins for Best New Work and Best Musical Production.

More than a dozen writers from around the country came to Chicago this year to develop their scripts with our Artistic Ensemble during our Gay Film and Gay Play Weekends. And our September, 2013, Women's Work Weekend of lesbian plays and screenplays will be the biggest yet! And your support helped us provide more than $5000 to writers in contest winners to support their writing!

Our plan for the 2013-14 Season will delight! We will present the world premiere of the winner of the 2013 Gay Play Contest - Martin Casella's beautiful and haunting drama Directions for Restoring the Apparently Dead. You will have the chance to see the Chicago premieres of two sizzling hits from regional theaters. And we will continue to measure how far we have come with a look back at a classic American drama.

In short, our passionate perspective on LGBTQ theater is personal and powerful. And we hope you will partner with us as we continue to shape the landscape of theater for the generations ahead.

As we reach the end of our fiscal year on June 30, I hope you will consider making a tax-deductible donation now by going here. I thank those of you whose previous support has enabled Pride Films and Plays to build a strong foundation. Please help us build on that foundation with your donation today.
