Congratulations.... Curtain Call
We just learned that Under A Rainbow Flag received five Jeff Recommendations for 2013. Recognition was given to writer Leo Schwartz (Outstanding New Work), Robert Ollis (Musical Direction), David Zak (Direction), and James Nedrud (Supporting Role in a Musical). The show was also nominated in the Best Musical category, and we could not be happier!

Watch for the winners to be announced at the Jeff Awards on June 3!

...and Thanks!
Our thanks go out to everyone who contributed in their own unique way to make Under A Rainbow Flag a well attended success. From the earliest donors in our Indiegogo campaign, to those who adopted actors, we are so grateful. To those of you who made donations after seeing the show, we so appreciate it. And to our special donor who bought a round of drinks for the cast on closing night - cheers!

Equally important are our audience members - especially those who came back for return visits.  We appreciate your laughter and tears. We hope - as I think you do - that Under A Rainbow Flag will find further life in American theaters.

I want to thank the production team who made miracles happen. Musical director Robert Ollis and the band; Stage Manager Jessica Forella and the strong designers; Tracy Strimple whose choreography had the house jumping every night. And of course the bedrock of it all - the fine acting ensemble: Kyrie Anderson, Bobby Arnold, David Besky*, Sam Button-Harrison,
Luis Herrera, Donterrio Johnson, James Nedrud,
Jordan Phelps, Nick Stockwell*,
and Kevin Webb*.

Finally, my thanks go to Leo Schwartz for his great wit, big heart, and his insistence on excellence. And to Jon Philips, whose presence in the front row on every Saturday night as his story was told was all the inspiration we needed.

Thanks to many others who remain unnamed. Your support means the world to all of us.

David Zak

 Gay Play Weekend

Writing contests developing new plays and screenplays are at the heart of PFP's mission.  At the Flash and Under a Rainbow Flag were both finalists in our Great Gay Play Contest, and workshopped as enhanced staged readings at Center on Halsted's Hoover-Leppen Theater last spring.

This year, five more ground-breaking plays will be presented May 17 to 19, in Gay Play Weekend again at Center on Halsted. Watch for more details next week. And get  tickets here. Your input will help us shape next year's season!
