Pride Films and Plays Needs Your Support!

Dear Friends -

Thanks to your support, both new and historic playwrighting voices

were heard on Pride Films and Plays' stages this year. We were thrilled to present the world premiere of Sean Chandler and David Leeper's

At The Flash, our first Jeff-recommended show!

We had a great time introducing audiences to the quirky voices of Julian Christopher (Man Boobs) and Mariah MacCarthy (The All-American Genderf*ck Cabaret). And it was exciting to reconsider historical LGBT voices, such as Cal Yeomans's long-lost Richmond Jim and the 20th anniversary production of David Drake's The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me.

And we hope that with your support, many more unique voices will be heard in 2013.

More than a dozen writers from around the country came to Chicago this year to work with our Artistic Ensemble on our Gay Film Weekend, Gay Screenplay Weekend, and Women's Work Weekend of lesbian plays and screenplays, sponsored by Center on Halsted. And we provided more than $4000 to writers in contest winnings to support their work!

But we need your support now to build upon those strengths. We have two large productions coming up in 2013 - the haunting teen love story Beautiful Thing (in a 20th anniversary production) and the rollicking musical about gay soldiers in World War II, Under a Rainbow Flag. We have excellent casts and crews.

Your gift now will support the artists in those productions, and the marketing efforts needed to fill our seats!  Only then will we be able to achieve our full potential.

Please consider making an end-of-year tax-deductible donation now here.

I thank those of you whose support has enabled Pride Films and Plays to build a strong foundation. Please help us build on that foundation with your donation today.

Sincerely,

David Zak signature
