Auditions for UNDER A RAINBOW FLAG
Pride Films and Plays seeks six men and one woman in their early to mid-20s, and one man 40s to 50s who are excellent singers for the world premiere of the new musical Under a Rainbow Flag, which was a finalist in the 2012 Great Gay Play and Musical Contest. Written by Chicago composer Leo Schwartz, it will be directed by David Zak, with music direction by Robert Ollis.
Under a Rainbow Flag tells the story of several young friends serving in the military during World War II. It follows their lives, loves, and relationships through scenes that occur during and after the war. The show is based on the real-life experiences of an Evanston man and his friends who served in the Navy during those critical war years.
This is a non-Equity gig with pay. Staging rehearsals will start the week of February 3, with some limited one-on-one music sessions during preceding weeks. The show previews March 21 and 22, opens March 23, and runs through April 21. The production is Jeff-eligible. Performances will be at Profiles Mainstage Theater on Broadway at Buena.
