Hello shipmates,

We have the Heritage just about all ready for winter.  The last coats of polyurethane are going on the galley tables, the deck has been oiled to protect it over the winter and three of the small boats are all varnished and under cover.  The crew has left to pursue their next adventures.

Capt. Doug had a lot of work to do on our row boat, Lois Lane. He replaced some frames and refastened the entire boat, with the crew's help.

The old varnish and paint have been removed.  Soon she'll be looking pretty shiny and fancy, all ready for next season.

The Maine Windjammer Association photo contest deadline is coming right up on November 1st.  Please send your photos!
We had Schooner Heritage winners last year.  This photo won the "Captain's Choice"

There are even some prizes!

Shary has a new office assistant although you may not get to talk with her.  Coco is enjoying her second week at the shipyard.

She's just 9 weeks old.  Shary now has a new exercise program, lots of walking around the neighborhood.

Our new schedule for 2015 is now available and on our website. We have some shorter trips in early June but still plenty of variety with 3, 4 and 6-day trips.  There's even a 5-day one in August.  We'll be looking for seals and birds, photographing lighthouses, talking about maritime history, and enjoying the sailing, picturesque harbors and beautiful night skies on all trips.  Call to have us hold a cabin for you.  The cabins with a private head and the single cabins are being reserved quickly.

Hope to hear from you and see you aboard in 2015.

All the best,
    DLSig2
