       Hello from the
Schooner Heritage!

Happy New Year To All,

Fast away the old year passes, 2013 is almost gone ---

We enjoyed lots of good times, sailing, good food, friends, and adventures.  A trip to Fort Lauderdale, Florida last month was planned around Capt. Julie Wheaton's wedding, our crew member from when we first sailed the schooner Heritage.

We visited National Parks, lighthouses, lots of beaches, friends, family, and marine and car museums.

Tybee Island Lighthouse in Georgia from the street and from the tower.

Linda with our 1984 Excalibur, "Elegant", at Assateague Island State Park, Maryland.

"All of Naples (Florida) is a Bird Sanctuary."
This structure was at the end of a very long public fishing pier.

This little fellow came down for a closer look at the people.

Thanks for your kind offers of overnight accommodations.  We were racing the weather home and got here the night before the black ice.  Snow arrived here in mid-December complete with an ice storm and is still here. Quite cold, with a high of 12 degrees at noon today.

All your cards and holiday letters are important to us and we enjoy hearing your news.  Here are some of our favorite cards.

This is the best picture we could get of our Christmas tree atop the mainmast.  It even has lights!!

Hope you enjoyed a wonderful Christmas and all of the holidays.  All the best for a happy and healthy New Year.
