    How time flies
  when we're having fun!

Hi Shipmates,

It's been nearly two months since we finished sailing and they have been busy ones.  With the winter cover in place, additional docking lines, heavier fender boards and several large tires as fenders, the schooner's now ready to take on the winds and snow of winter.

The schooner rode out her first bout of blustery weather as Sandy blew through Rockland. We're happy to say there was no damage to either the schooner or dock.

While we were busy aboard, Shary was just as busy in the office, closing the books on the 2012 season and setting up for 2013.  The schedule is up on the website and we're ready to accept reservations. If you asked us to hold a cabin for next year, please get in touch to confirm that request.

Major projects completed, we decided to take a break from the day to day routine.  An invitation from our daughter, Clara, to join her in California for Thanksgiving was the perfect opportunity for a road trip. What better chance to do some classic touring in our 1984 20th Anniversary Jubilee Excalibur Phaeton!

Here we are visiting L.L. Bean to pick up some essentials before leaving Maine.

Elegant and The L L Bean Booat

In the past four days we've traveled 1,332 miles, visited with family in Albany, returned to Fairport, New York where in 1969 we said 'I do', and stopped by Niagara Falls.

One of the highlights of the trip so far has been visiting Camelot Motors in Milwaukee, home of Excalibur Motor Company.  Not only did we get a tour of the entire facility including 13 or 14 Excaliburs, we met David Stevens, the design engineer of them all.  Knowing our travel plans, the pit crew made a spontaneous appointment to give the car a quick check-up.

What an "Elegant" time we've had so far!

If you're thinking of sailing in 2013, call Shary to reserve your cabin.  Even though we're on the road, she's minding the office and close to the phone.

We hope that each and every one of you has a happy Thanksgiving. And if like us, you find yourself on the road in the coming days leading up to the holiday...

Safe travels,
