The Choices We Make

Napa Valley CanDo seeks to inspire and facilitate action by alerting interested Valley residents about opportunities for service. If you participate as a volunteer in an activity that you learned about through Napa Valley CanDo, whether initiated by CanDo or another organization, please take personal responsibility for your involvement. Use common sense. Only you can determine whether an activity is a good fit, that is to say compatible with your interests and abilities.

An RSVP will help us plan, and if you can bring a bottle of beverage to share, that will help ensure that we're
all hydrated. We'll supply tasty bites and a beautiful setting.

As with all CanDo Conversations, there's no set agenda, no volunteering, just a great opportunity for connection.

JUST  A  FEW  OF  THE  THINGS  WE  LEARNED
ON OUR WONDROUS WATER FIELD TRIP

In California:
2013 was the driest year on record.
2014 was the hottest year on record.
2015 had the lowest snow pack on record.

All of which led to the first ever statewide mandatory water restrictions. Napa's target? To reduce use by 20%. So far, we're doing a good job!

Pat Costello, with the City of Napa Water Department, led the way and answered questions.
Young and old(er), all shapes and sizes, we watched the algae-ridden water of the Sacramento River Delta processed to clear,
bright drinking water flowing to all of our homes.

Spirit

This year's excellent nonprofits have been selected; catalog and website crews are at work; and the team of CanDo volunteers that brings it all together meets every two weeks to keep things moving forward.

Ah, but there are so many pieces and parts
to this project. We'll need a hand with
gathering incentive gifts, putting up posters,
making the Kick-off Celebration a delight...
For information on how you can help with CanDo's
2015 Napa Valley Give!Guide in 2015, email us.

You make a choice. You make a Difference.
We make it easy.
