- A committed, hard-working board of directors who provide hands on support to increase resources, raise money, bring contacts to the organization, and act as ambassadors for the organization.
- A sound governance model, combined with open dialog, due diligence and a little elbow grease, helps pave the way for success.
- A professional dedicated staff who are best of class and value collaboration with board members and volunteers completes the equation.
Yet none of this is possible without people who are willing to serve. WE NEED YOU!
At Scottsdale Leadership, our Board ensures not only the viability of our organization, but our legacy of leadership as well. That legacy begins with you.
Our 2016-2017 Scottsdale Leadership Board member recruitment process is underway and we invite you to consider applying, or nominate another Scottsdale Leadership alumnus, for an important leadership role.
Specifically, we seek a Chair or Vice Chair for board committees listed below. The Chair and Vice Chair of each committee serve on the Board of Directors, with two-year terms beginning June 1, 2016.
- Board meets monthly, usually 3rd Wednesdays, 7:30-9:30 AM
- Board members set the tone and pace for alumni engagement and are required to give or get a minimum of $1,500.
- Board members create a legacy for Scottsdale Leadership by working together and with staff to set strategy and implement alumni and community outreach.
Below are brief descriptions of each Board Committee:
ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT COMMITTEE
Ensures alumni stay active and involved with Scottsdale Leadership through strategic communication campaigns and personal outreach. They organize the year-round alumni annual giving campaign and related forms of outreach.
ALUMNI EVENTS COMMITTEE
Organizes educational and experiential events for current class members and alumni to meet, interact, engage, and have fun!
COMMUNITY EVENTS COMMITTEE
Creates opportunities to involve the community-at-large with the organization.They plan the Annual Spirit of Community Leadership Awards Luncheon in December and the Project Lead It Forward Showcase & Reception each spring.
CORPORATE OUTREACH COMMITTEE
Helps ensure the financial stability of Scottsdale Leadership by securing financial resources. Working with board and staff, they identify, cultivate, solicit and steward new corporate partners whose mission aligns with Scottsdale Leadership. Door Openers and SL Cheer Leaders wanted.
MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
Develops and implements marketing and communications strategies for Scottsdale Leadership. Helps write copy for articles, news releases and website; procure photographers and advise other committees.
OUTREACH AND RECRUITMENT COMMITTEE
Identifies and recruits applicants for the next Scottsdale Leadership class. They attend community events to promote interest in Scottsdale Leadership.
CORE PROGRAM COMMITTEE - NEW!
In conjunction with a dedicated staff member, oversees the implementation of Core Program days including recruiting and working with Day Chairs and topic experts to ensuring quality and thought-provoking content. Assist with execution of Project Lead It Forward and Leadership Development Modules.
