Extensive quality control plays a big role throughout the manufacturing process of First Impression products. Our iron artists receive continuous training and inspection to ensure that each product leaving our fabrication facilities is of the highest quality from top to bottom. Quality First

According to Merriam Webster quality is "a high level of value or excellence". First Impression employees strive for a high level of perfection with every product that leaves our fabrication facilities from the drawing of the idea to the hardware and everything in between, quality is a step that has been crucial to our success and company reputation over the past 20 years.

Our 9 point inspection begins with engineering. Everything from design concept and measurements to CAD's and cut sheets are created and double checked against the customer order.

Once the engineering phase is complete, fabrication begins. Each piece of art, scroll or design element is hand crafted from scratch by heating, bending, cutting and welding high quality steel to the perfect size and shape. Every design element is again inspected before being added to the final product.

Next, the product is compared to the design concept during the table check inspection, to ensure it meets the expectations of the customer. Every curve and line is checked, measured and re-measured to be sure nothing has been missed.

Then, the product is sent to our QC area where all welds, grinds, and angles are measured and materials are quality checked for weaknesses. At this point, if any inconsistencies are noted, the product is returned to the floor for correction.

Before being powder coated, the product undergoes a high pressure spray with a special phosphate solution to ensure the powder coating adheres securely to every nook and cranny of the steel. From here the product is sent to our on site powder coating facility where an electromagnetically charged powder is sprayed onto the iron surface and baked in an over-sized oven at 400 degrees for 20-30 minutes.

After the product is powder-coated, the thickness of the finish is measured to ensure a higher than industry standard application was applied and no foreign particles or objects made it onto the surface. If re-powder coating is required the product is sand blasted and refinished.

Subsequently, all the hardware, including hinges, handles, locks, levers and any other additions are assembled to the product, with each piece undergoing inspection before being added.

Finally, the product is ready to be installed. Once at the customer location, the product is professionally installed by First Impression employees, remeasured, checked for flaws and confirmed with the customer by field operations.
