Paint Roller
Most of us have watched a home improvement show on television that shows how simple decor changes and a paint job can completely transform a room.  All it takes is a little time and elbow grease to make it feel like you have walked into a new area of your home. Granted, not all of us have the talent, patience or money to tackle a whole house, but there are a lot of small changes you can do in a weekend to spruce up your entrance, kitchen or bathroom. Home improvement projects like these will provide a refreshing new look to your home and provide beautiful before and after pictures that you will be proud to show off to all your friends and family!

Let us know how we can help by calling 1-800-361-7989 today!

The Team from First Impression Security Doors
family7 Ways to Upgrade Your Home
1. Add framed mirrors to closet doors - you can purchase very inexpensive framed mirrors at any hardware or home improvement store. Paint the frames to match the door or with a contrasting color to give it some "pop" to make them look like they are built in mirrors! Fasten the mirrors to freshly painted wooden closet doors and you will make the room appear larger, lighter and fresher in next to no time.
Tutorial available at www.theletteredcottage.com
2. Create a canopy bed using curtain rods - If you don't have the budget for a canopy bed (have you seen the prices on those things?!), it's fairly easy to create your own like the one we found at Lonny Magazine.  With just the right sized curtain poles, some luxurious curtains or fabric and little bit of DIY know-how, you can create the look of the canopy bed without the expense.  It will completely change the look and feel of any room and give it that decadent feeling the instant you walk in.

3. Use some decorative iron brackets at windows that do not need to be covered by drapes, to give any room a beautiful focal point. Purchase new or pick up some used brackets, paint them a contrasting color, or get them professionally powder coated. This is a very inexpensive but effective way to dress up windows. We like the ones we found at Chateau Chic shown below. There are many other examples of this that you can find on Pinterest and Houzz too!
More details available at Chateau Chic's website

4. Spice up your garage door by replacing it with a windowed carriage door or a DIY version that will save you money! Look at this amazing before and after - it cost just $30 in paint and tape to achieve this look according to the folks that posted this project! See more pictures on their website.

5. Frame boring light switches with repainted wooden frames.  Just bring light switch plates with you to the hardware store, grab a can of spray paint and some hot glue and go to town!  Take a look at this transformation we found at Me, Myself and DIY.  We love it!
Tutorial can be found at Me, Myself & DIY

6. You have often heard us talk about repainting, but one of the newest trends to hit home decor is to half paint your walls. This can give the illusion of taller ceilings and also gives the room a unique look. We just love what one blogger did with her bedroom makeover. Get more information here.
Details at www.DIYinspired.com
7. Get a new gate or door installed - the wow factor is something that can't be denied when you see the difference in the below picture.  Your entry way is the first thing you and your visitors will see when approaching your house. The first impression is a lasting one, so make it count.  A new iron door gives your home an instant upgrade and can make a huge difference both on the outside AND on the inside the inside with increased light, ventilation, beauty and of course security. Completely transform your space and give your home a more upscale and elegant feel!

What Our Customers
Are Saying
young-family-portrait

"We had a security door and new window installed by First Impression. The whole experience was amazing. I wanted a beautiful entrance door and my husband wanted to add a screen door. First Impression designed both which look absolutely beautiful and have added curb appeal and value to our home. Our salesman Adam was so helpful and stayed in contact throughout the process. The craftsmanship is amazing and the installers were very professional. We have had so many compliments on our new front door and window. We could not be more pleased with the end result and the price was very reasonable. Thanks First Impression for beautifying our home!"
