2. Avoid letting lawn sprinklers reach iron products and consider drip irrigation for the area around iron products.
3. Inspect iron at least once a month. If problems are starting to show it is much easier to fix them before they have done extensive damage.4. You should
lubricate internal locks and components with silicone spray approximately every 4 months or earlier if you notice the lock seems to stick or is difficult to turn. Lock and unlock both sides with your key to check functionality of entire lock and repeat the process if necessary.
5. Use a
quality commercial glass cleaner with either newspaper or a good quality
squeegee to
clean all glass on our products .
Do not use any products containing abrasives as this may scratch and permanently damage the glass.

6.
Lubricate hinges every 4 months with silicone spray, saturating all areas of the hinge to ensure full coverage. This will help gates and doors to operate smoothly without squeaking.
7.
DO NOT hose down your iron to clean it, as this will create unneeded wear and potential future issues. Instead, use dish washing detergent in warm water, a sponge, a nylon scrubber (for stubborn dirt), and a clean, damp towel to remove the soap when done.
You can use a toothbrush with a drop of detergent to get to those hard to reach areas. Be sure that all areas of the iron are dry including creases and crevices. If you find areas of concern as you clean your iron, finish cleaning and then scrub the area with fine grit sand paper and rinse thoroughly. Wipe the area down with a cloth to remove remaining particles. Use touch up paint intended for iron (you can find these paints at most home improvement stores or from one of
our showrooms).

8.
Clean and lightly sand (if needed) redwood products annually to ensure the wood is ready to absorb an outdoor approved stain or sealer to protect the life of the wood. We suggest a Minwax red mahogany stain or
a Thompson's seal to protect the natural beauty of redwood, which can be purchased at your local hardware store.
9. Composite wood is virtually maintenance free and usually just requires an
annual physical wipe down with soap and water and a complete drying of all moisture applied to the product. Composite wood will swell in different climates and at different times which may appear to be an issue with the
material, but this is normal and considered natural behavior of the recycled lumbers' elements.
10. When they become dusty or dirty, remove from the windows and
spray sunscreens with a garden hose to wash off accumulated dirt. DO NOT use a pressure washer. Then use a soft rag with soap and water to remove any more stubborn marks and shake off excess water. Dry with a towel and make sure they are thoroughly dry before replacing.
