THE GOOD FRIDAY RELAY

"If you have ever watched a relay race you know it is about one runner passing the baton to the next. Success is based on the accuracy and speed of the many handoffs. We are finishing our journey in Lent. We are approaching the Cross where Jesus died, the end of His earthly race. I want to suggest there are several handoffs of the Cross in His story."

THE ANCIENT ART OF ROME AT TOLEDO MUSEUM OF ART

Thursday, March 17th, St. Paul's United Methodist Church and a few friends of the church attended a special lecture hosted by Adam Levine the Assistant Director  and Ancient Art Curator for the Toledo Museum of Art.  He walked us through the Ancient Art of Rome and lectured on ancient Rome, its artifacts, and how we might better understand Jesus' community and Roman society through vessels, and the art works of the time.  Adam has a specialty in acient Roman art and its culture from The University of Oxford, England where he studied art history.  His undergraduated degree is in anthropology, history, and mathmatics from Darthmuth.  He will be offering quarterly tours for St. Paul's and we would like to invite others within our district to join us.  This was a fabulous night of learning, just before Holy Week began.  More information will be coming for our next adventure at the Toledo Art Museum!
