Dear ,
Election Day, Tuesday, November 3rd

Greetings,

As most know Issue 3 is on the ballot to change the Ohio Constitution in order to legalize the sale and usage of marijuana. This is historic and important legislation regardless of which side of the issue you are on.

My purpose is NOT to tell you how to vote.   It is to ENCOURAGE you TO VOTE.
Our West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church has taken a stand on Issue 3. --  Below you will find the link to the Conference web site.

While churches and non-profits are not permitted to take stands on which candidates to vote for, we should certainly make information available on legislation that deals with  social justice issues. There is a lot of information being promoted about Issue 3 - some of it very emotional.

I believe one of the most important things any of us can do is to be thoroughly informed on Issue 3.  I encourage you to read this and to share it with your church members before November 3rd.  This link from the West Ohio Conference web site is recommended to help us be thoroughly informed.    United Methodist Response to Issue 3.

In Christ,
Rev. Dr. Scot Ocke
District Superintendent

Photorealistic watercolor

Photorealistic watercolor paintings will be on Exhibition at Wesley Memorial Art Gallery and Garden, now through November 29.  Photorealistic watercolor painting is considered an additive style of painting. This style requires considerable control of the medium and is accomplished through the use of many layers of thin glazes.

The gallery is located at 1200 Van Buren St. Fostoria, OH, in the handicapped accessible narthex of Wesley UMC. The Gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays/Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For additional information, please call 419.619.5388.

October 24th Apple Gleaning

The Knights of Columbus took two hundred pounds back to their food pantry. Bowling Green food pantry took two thousand eight hundred pounds and of course we had nine thousand nine hundred forty eight pounds on the Meals for Millions truck for a grand total of twelve thousand nine hundred forty eight pounds.

We thank all those gleaners who came to harvest God's abundance and to feed the hungry.
