A letter from the Friendly Center

This letter is to remind you about one of our United Methodist Women's national missions that is in our conference - The Friendly Center.  Some of you may have heard of it, but there are some that have not!

It's PURPOSE:    No neighbor will go hungry, feel alienated, alone or powerless.

In today's times the Friendly Center's resources are being stretched thin.  We are asking all of the churches in West Ohio Conference for their support, whether you have a UMW unit or not. We would like to challenge churches either individually or in partnership with another church to raise $100 in the next 3 months for the Friendly Center.

Won't you please prayerfully consider this challenge to help our national mission to be able to continue it's much needed services. If you accept this challenge, please mail your check to: Terry Robideau, MWD President, 1200 Wildflower Drive, Metamora, Ohio 43540 per Amelia Gibbons, Director of Friendly Center, request.  Mark in memo for Friendly Center.

Pakistani Family Hosted at Liberty Chapel UMC

Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church has been presented with a unique opportunity - to host a family from Pakistan.  Tahir Masood, his wife Fouzia, son Ethan (7-1/2 years old), daughter Emma (4-1/2 years old), and younger son Elliot Chris (2-1/2 years old) will arrive in the United States on October 18 and will be with us until November 20.

We are contacting local churches in the hopes that your church, or an organization within your church, would be willing to invite Mr. Masood to speak and to share about his ministry. He would be honored to share the story of Agape Pakistan in worship, in Sunday School, at a men's or women's or youth group or your mission team, or at any other small group. He/they also would be available to speak with individuals.

For more information, or if you are interested in meeting Mr. Masood and/or hosting him in your church to speak, see the MWD webpage by clicking here!

Suggested donations are as follows: $75 for One, $50ea. if purchasing more than one, $500 for the whole lot.  This information is also available on the MWD webpage by clicking here!
