Offering at Annual Conference
The missional emphasis for the Annual Conference Session will again be Imagine No Malaria, a key component of The United Methodist Church's Global Health Initiative. Last year the West Ohio Conference made a commitment to join together over the next few years in raising awareness and money for Imagine No Malaria, supporting its plan that is delivering hope to many devastated by malaria. The Imagine No Malaria offering will be received Tuesday morning of Annual Conference during worship. Unable to get the cash in hand to the AC? Use this pledge form to make your donation.

"Imagine No Malaria" Benefit Concert June 7 The United Methodist Church's "Imagine No Malaria" campaign is putting faith into action to end preventable deaths by malaria. Since the campaign began in 2010, the number of malaria deaths in Africa has been cut in half. But malaria still kills 700,000 people every year - more than one each minute. Locally, Hope United Methodist Church, Toledo is supporting Imagine No Malaria with a benefit concert on Saturday, June 7, from noon to 2:30, on its front lawn at 4069 West Sylvania Avenue (across from Franklin Park Mall). The church's praise band will play original and inspirational songs as well as old favorites. Food will be available. Admission is free. Donations are encouraged to support Imagine No Malaria's prevention, treatment, and education activities. Everyone is invited to stop by Hope United Methodist Church any time between noon and 2:30 on June 7 and support this worthy cause. |

National Hunger Action Month
It's June, and September is coming!
September is National Hunger Action Month.
Plan now to make September 2014 a time to take a stand against hunger, joining with the Society of St. Andrew to see that each person in this country has healthy, nourishing food to eat.
Nearly 50 million people in the United States today are hungry or food insecure. Yet in this country, we will throw away over 133 billion pounds of good food this year. As people of faith, it is time for us to take action-to say that this situation is unacceptable and to do something about it.
